Hello! My name's Rachel and this is my journal. Wow that was cliche, sorry about that. In this journal I'm going to post things that I want to talk about (i.e. books, YouTube, theatre, my personal life etc etc). Obviously I won't get into personal information, as that would just be stupid on my part. This little introduction is just going to be me talking about who I am as I person and things like that.
As I said, my name is Rachel. I'm thirteen (going on fourteen.) and I live in the Midwestern US. I won't get any more detailed than that because I would prefer to stay safe. One thing you should know right off the bat is that if you say your *insert age here* going on *insert age here* I will start singing Sixteen Going on Seventeen from Sound of Music.
I have several really big obsessions, one of them is YouTube. I started watching YouTube in 2009 or 2010 because of two reasons: 1. my dad wanted to show my brothers and I the Flintstones theme song for some reason, and 2. one of my friends from first grade had a YouTube channel with his brother and he wanted me to watch some of his videos. So I guess I owe it all to my father and that random boy who shall remain un-named. My first YouTube obsession was probably in 2013 and it was either the YouTube channel Mental Floss - which John Green hosts - or MisterEpicMann. MisterEpicMann remains one of my favorite YouTubers of all time, and I'm so glad he got his channel back. I'm also quite obsessed with Dan and Phil, doddleoddle (who liked my tweet the other day), charlieissocoollike, Anna Akana, Jacksfilms, and WheezyWaiter.
Another obsession would be reading. I really love Percy Jackson, John Green's books, Maureen Johnson's books, Harry Potter, Kiera Cass's books and Jenny Han's soon-to-be-trilogy To All the Boys I've Loved Before. I love how reading takes you into a completely different world and suddenly all your problems are gone. You're living with people going on advenhtures, and are spontaneous, and who actually have boyfriends and social lives - all these components, I am sadly lacking.
I'm also obsessed with musicals. Four of the bigger ones would be Hamilton, In the Heights (scratch that, anything by Lin-Manuel Miranda in general (, Spring Awakening (Jonathan Groff and John Gallagher Jr are gods I swear), and Wicked. The biggest one is probably Hamilton, as I spent about three months just listening to Hamilton on repeat. Yeah, it was pretty bad, I'm not exaggerating. I've stayed up until 3AM listening to Hamilton, completely sobbing over It's Quiet Uptown, Burn, and Who Lives Who Dies Who Tells Your Story on multiple occasions. I even cried over Hamilton on the bus and in civics class. Some may say I'm overly emotional but I like to say I'm an expressive person. I'll probably make other entries on these things later.
When I'm older, I want to be an actress. I love acting and singing so much. The stage is, quite honestly, the only place I can see myself when I'm older. My dream roles are Elphaba in Wicked, Éponine from Les Misérables, Mimi from Rent (though that's never going to happen because my voice isn't that powerful), Eliza from Hamilton (also not going to happen because I'm white and I respect the message of the show's casting choices), Lafayette from Hamilton (because I mean, he's a freaking badass - I can't play him though because I'm white, I can't rap, and I'd never be able to live up to live up to Daveed's standards.), and finally Ilse from Spring Awakening.
On June 1st I got to see TATINOF, and on October 9th I get to go to a Rick Riordan signing.
I'm currently in the musical The Little Mermaid, and I have two upcoming auditions (one for Legally Blonde - I want to be cast as Vivienne or Paulette), and another show that hasn't been announced yet.
I play the flute - though I don't enjoy it -, I sing, I play the ukulele, and I can sort of play the guitar and recorder.
That's enough for one day. I hope that you feel like you know too much information about me now.

RandomI was inspired to do this because of @hanisnotonfire07 (check her out, she's great). This is kind of a place to just talk and vent. Some pieces of my writing might go in here as well. (Pardon some of the weirder pictures on the cover. I just wanted...
