Chapter Five

Niall sat there, sure that his expression resembled a deer in the headlights, but he didn't care. When had Zayn even gotten those? He had been with him the entire time! But that wasn't Niall's main concern at this moment.


No, his main concern was his papa standing in front of him, holding a package of nappies. Zayn stared at him expectantly, though beginning to talk when it was clear that Niall would not.


"Baby, I just don't understand. I know this is what you want, what you need, even. And it's what I want too. I've made it perfectly clear that you are big to be ashamed about what makes you happy. I just don't understand why you aren't letting me take care of you. Please. Baby, tell me what I'm doing wrong." Zayn asked, clearly upset with himself.


Niall felt his heartbreak, he swore he did. His Papa honestly believed that he wasn't being a good daddy to him. If was anything but that. Zayn was the perfect Papa! Niall quickly shook his head and climbed into Zayn's lap, snuggling into him affectionately.


"No, you are the best Papa I could ask for. You aren't doing anything wrong." Niall cooed, trying to sooth his Papas hurting. Zayn looked up at him with sad eyes, gently beginning to hug him back.


"Then why aren't you opening up to me?" Zayn asked and everything about him was defeated.


"I just-ughhh..." Niall let out a frustrated groan, not knowing how to get the point across.


"Zayn, I've had to keep this part of my hidden for so long, that I don't really know what to do when I don't have to hide anymore. I've never had someone who would take care of me and show me the love you are willing to give. So, what I'm trying to say is, is that I don't know how to be me. Really, truly me. It's nothing that you're doing. It's my fault, not yours." Niall softly added, staring directly into his papas eyes.


Zayn said nothing at first, only stares directly back at Niall, holding him gently.


The tension of the silence grew thicker...


Then Zayn chuckled deeply and drew Niall into a huge bear hug, caressing Niall's hair lightly.


"That's all? Baby, you just have to let go. Let go of all your fears and little insecurities about who you are and just be happy. Nothing can come between You and I. Not even the gods above could separate the two of us." Zayn vowed, playing with Niall's hands slightly.


Niall smiled, wanting to cry in happiness. He could do this. It might take a little while, but he could do this.


"Ok Papa, I wuv you!" Niall said, and immediately clamping his hand over his mouth and his eyes widening in shock. Had he just baby talked?


Niall blushed and tried to crawl out if Zayn's lap, but he only held him tighter.
"See? There you go baby! Just let go...." Zayn cooed in Niall's ear.


Niall locked eyes with his Papa for a moment before slowly nodding. He closed his eyes and sighed, relaxing a bit.



And he let go.


His headspace was in full control now.
