I wake up in the middle of the night. I check my watch and it is 1:3o am. I slip out of bed as quietly as I can. I carefully put on the brace and I throw on my softball sweat pants that had the team on one leg, and my lucky number, 23 , on the other.

I put on a blue Under Armor shirt that reads 'I will Protect This House.'

I slip on my black shoes.

I grab one of my guitars, not sure which one. I reach my hand into the guitar pick section of it and I grab my lucky pick.

I walk as quietly as I can out of the cabin. Tonight was cooler than usual. I close the door behind me and I walk out to the 'Dock of Shame'

I sit on the very end of the dock and I look into the dark water.

The moonlight reflects off the water, lighting up the sky.

I realized that I grab the electric guitar.

I begin the strum one of my favorite songs. 'Lego House' by Ed Sheeran.

As I strum I begin to sing softly, so I don't wake up everybody.

"I'm gonna pick up the pieces

And build a Lego House

If things go wrong we can knock it down.

Three words have two meanings

An one things on my mind

It's all for you.

And it's dark and a cold December

But I've got you to keep me warm

If your broken

I will mend you

And I'll keep you sheltered from the storm

That's raging on

Now

I'm out of touch

I'm out of luck

Ill pick you up when your getting down

And out of all these things I've done.

I think I love you better now.

I'm out of sight

I'm out of mind

Ill do it all for you in time

And out of all these things I've done,

I think I love you better now."

I continue to strum.

"I'm going to paint you by numbers

And color you in

If things go right

We can frame it.

And put you on a wall.

And it's so hard to say it,

But I've been here before.

Now I surrender up my heart,

And swap it for yours.

I'm out of tou-"

I'm cut off by footsteps walking behind me. I turn around and I see that is Duncan.

My heart starts to race.

Now that I have feelings for Duncan, every time I see him my heart races.

"How did you know I was out here?" I ask him.

"I was up at the time you got up. I watched you get your guitar and sneak out. so I followed you out hear and enjoyed a free concert." He says as he sit next to me in the dock.

"You heard that?" I ask him. Embarrassed.

"I heard everything." He replies. He looks up at the stars in the sky and smiles.

"I hate this place." I say to him.

"Me too Princess," Duncan says as he looks back down at me. "You know that 90% of the people here would never reject you like Chris made us do for the phobia thing right?" He asks me.

I take guitar and I rotate it to my back while the strap is still on.

"Reason number one why I hate this place. Chris."

He laughs.

"Hey remember when you arrived at the island, you misstepped and fell into the water at this very spot." He says while looking out over the lake.

"Don't remind me of it." I say.

"And about 50 meters that way and 20 meters into the water, you flashed the whole world."

I roll my eyes.

"You know what Duncan?" I begin as I stand up. "You are the most irritating, annoying, and devilish person ever. Do your parents even like you!?"

He stands up also, standing in front of me. "I don't know, I haven't asked them lately."

He throws that killer smirk. His hands slip around my waist he he pulls me closer. He looks into my eyes with his cold green one. His piercings glimmer in the moonlight. I wrap my hands around the back of his neck. The back of his neck is warm to my cold hands but he doesn't break eye contact.

I'm starting to think that Duncan may be feeling the same way.

"You know how you wanted to give your message to Heather, and did just that?" He asks me, while still holding me.

"Yes. I put her into the infirmary."

He chuckles.

"Well I have a message of my own that I need to give to you," He whispers while throwing in that smirk.

"What do you-"

I was cut of by Duncan's lips connecting with mine. He hugs me tighter as I begin to kiss back.

We break apart slowly, but with our foreheads still connecting.

"I really like you Syler. I haven't stopped thinking about you since I saw you fall off the boat on day one." Duncan admits to me.

"Oh Duncan, at first I couldn't stand you, but then I started to grow feelings for you. I couldn't get you out of my head." I say to him.

We kiss again, but this one wasn't as long as the first.

"So does this mean we are, like, together?" I ask Duncan.

"I don't know, are we?"

I don't hesitate, I give him another quick kiss.

"Does that answer your question?" I ask him back.

I slip the guitar off my back and I set it down beside us.

He picks me up and spins me around once, he then sets me back down.

I step back my rights foot to regain some balance, but I was so lost in Duncan's eyes that it was too late.

The dock ended.

"Woah!" I say as I fall back, but Duncan reaches out and catches me.

"You are too clumsy." He says to he as he picks up the guitar.

"Hey, can't help it." I admit as I shrug my shoulders.

"We should probably head back to the cabin before Chris catches us." Duncan says as he takes my hand.

We walk back to the cabin, hand in hand.

This early morning was the best morning I have had. Ever.
