Chapter Fourteen: Trusting Him?

There are only 15 contestants left. The recent Eliminations were Katie, Tyler, Izzy, Cody, and Beth.

I wake up and I go to shower this morning.

I shower and fix my hair and make up. I walk out of the Bath house and back into the cabin. I see that everyone is awake. Except for Duncan.

Duncan and I have been dating for 4 weeks, and I think that he is just amazing.

I walk over to his bed and I hover over him.

"Wake up, Duncan." I say to him.

He opens one eye and looks at me. Then he shuts it.

"I see how it is." I say as I walk out of the cabin.

We all meet up at the dock.

"Today's challenge is going to test you trust in your teammates. I can tell that there is some tension on the Gopher side, and I am smelling some thing fishy on the Bass end." chris begins.

Duncan elbows Courtney and gives her that flirty smirk that he always gives me. Courtney gives him a glare. I couldn't hold in the frustration any longer, so I shove him down.

He gets up and glares at me. I just look away from him.

"You will go through a series of trust worthy challenges. The overall winner will be safe from immunity, while the losing team will be sending someone home. Now. On to the first Challenge!" Chris says as he points to a Huge mountain.

"Heather and Gwen. you will be the team for the Screaming Gophers. Duncan and DJ. You will be the tea for the Killer Bass. In this challenge one person will be harnessed and climb the mountain, the other, will be holding the rope, helping them climb." Chris says while holding tethers and harnesses.

"There is no way I am letting her hold me up." Heather complains.

"You won't really be holding them up. The tethers will be strung through this ring and you will hold the rope down. So if they slip, they won't fall to their deaths, if you are holding on. And by the way, the side and the base of the mountain are rigged with, surprises." Chris informs us while evilly chuckling.

"Whatever." Duncan says.

We all head to the mountain and Duncan begins to harness up DJ.

"Hey you Geoff, can you hold bunny while Im on the rock? Thanks man." DJ says as he hands Geoff a fluffy, adorable rabbit.

Both teams set out onto the mountain, and Chris was right, he did rig the mountain.

Chris sprays Heather with Hot sauce and Heather let go of the rope, causing Gwen to fall.

Chris tries to pull that same stunt onto Duncan, but Duncan drinks the hot sauce instead.

Eventually Gwen reaches the top, but not before Heather rips off the back of her skirt, exposing her underwear.

The next challenge involves Geoff, Bridgette, and I.

In this challenge Bridgette and I have to serve Geoff a poisonous blowfish.

Competing for the Gophers is Lindsey and Trent. Lindsey said that she took biology, but I wouldn't believe her.

Bridgette and I begin to cook the fish. Luckily I know about this type of fish, because we learned about it in AP Biology, and I doubt that Lindsey took that class.

I am kinda mad at Bridgette, but this is a challenge and we have to work together.

We finish cooking the blow fish and it was time that Geoff tastes it. I cross my fingers, hoping that we don't kill him.

Geoff takes a bite and is feeling ok.

A wave of relief rushes over me. I look over in time to see Trent try Lindsey's dish.

Not so much luck for him.

He seems fine, but he starts to choke and turn blue. He falls to the floor and starts to spaz.

Well. He had a good run.

Obviously we won that challenge.

I decide to skip watching the rest and I walk to the mess hall.

Chef was too busy working in the infirmary, so I sneak in and I steal a bag of potato chips.

I walk back to the cabins with the bag. On my way, I hear a rustling behind a bush.

I walk over and I peak behind the bush.

I see the infirmary tent, with Courtney standing in front of it.

Suddenly, I see Duncan walk by with a carrot in his hand, leading a bunny.

I leave the bush and I walk to the cabin.

I hide the chips under my bed as I think to myself.

'What would Duncan be doing with an adorable little rabbit.'

I make it back in time for the last challenge. Good thing no one noticed that I was gone.

I look up to the top of the hill an I see DJ, looking very depressed.

"What's up wit DJ?" I ask Bridgette, hoping that she would know.

"His bunny got eaten by a snake, and an Eagle, and a shark. Geoff told him that his bunny hopped away, hoping it wouldn't hurt him as badly as the truth would've." Bridgette explains to me.

By this one the race was already half way over. Apparently this is a Blind Toboggan Race. Gwen and Leshawna are racing for Gophers, and Geoff an DJ for us. They are all flying around everywhere. This is crazy.

"Oh DJ, guess who I found." I hear from behind me.

I turn around and I see Duncan holding up a little rabbit in his hands.

That's what the rabbit is for.

But wait.

Duncan has a soft side!?!?

Eventually Goeff and DJ appear out of no where, winning the race. DJ begins to celebrate with the bunny.

"I didn't know you had a soft spot Duncan." Courtney says to Duncan.

"Whatever, the stupid rabbit would leave me alone." Duncan says while crossing his arms.

"You led it with a carrot." I spoke up.

"How do you know that?" Duncan scoffs at me.

"Cameras are always watching." I say, knowing that I saw with my own eyes and not a camera.

"Ok maybe I did, but I have gone through a lost pet and I didn't want the guy to experience it. So I decided to help him. Don't mention this to him!" Duncan admits.

"Your secret is safe with me." Courtney says.

I don't say anything, because Im not going to promise anything.

"Not so fast Bass, this is a BLIND race, you guys broke the rule for a second. So the Gophers win" Chris breaks the news.

We groan while the Gophers cheer.

I notice that Trent has returned, but he doesn't look so good at all.

Lindsey took Biology, but didn't pass.

Poor Trent.

I walk to the confessional booth to vastly vote for tonight.

/"I have many reasons to vote off Bridgette tonight, but Courtney has to go! If I hear 'I was a trained CIT' one more time, I am going to lose it and throw myself off the cliff again, and hopefully landing on land. Also she has been trying to take Duncan from me, and I am not going to let that happen. Im not stupid, I see the way she talks to him."/

"When I call your name, come and retrieve your marsh mellow." Chris begins.

I look around and I see that Duncan is sitting I between Courtney an I.

"Duncan, Syler, DJ, Geoff, Bridgette," Chris starts to call the names.

I stand up and I go to get my marsh mellow.

"Harold." Chris says.

"Now it's only Courtney and Sadie left."

Please please please please be Courtney!

"And the last marsh mellow goes to... Courtney" Chris says with his dramatic pause.

"Son of a Bitch." I mumble under my breath.

Sadie begins to rant about us and eventually runs to the dock, where Katie is waiting on the Boat of Losers.

We walk back to the cabin and Duncan walk behind me.

"What was wrong with you today?" He asks me.

"I could ask the same thing to you" I snap back at him.

"Woah. Ok. Im sorry for anything I did." He says while stepping in front of me.

"Good. You should be." I reply as I walk into the girls side of the cabin and off to bed.
