Chapter – 2: Charity Gala

~Bethany’s POV~

I sighed, a frustrated sigh and checked my phone to see the time. I’ve been waiting for my brother Cole to finish getting ready but he still hasn’t come yet.

When we came back to our Mansion from the airport, I had slept and exactly one hour later, Cole woke me up saying he decided to take me to the Charity Gala tonight as his date, that he’s hosting.

Now, I’ve never been the type of girl to attend Gala’s, business dinner’s/parties, or any kind of formal parties in that case. But, I thought it wouldn’t kill me to go to this gala tonight, after all I would get free food. Just the thought of food is making me hungrier!

Anyways, I wore a black high neck floor length chiffon dress with a split on the right side. It had a deep V-neck which covered my skin with lace and silver rhinestones beaded around the neckline. The sleeves were long and it had silver rhinestones beaded around the edge of the long sleeves. I wore black strappy heels with it and got a black clutch with silver rhinestones on it just like the dress.

After waiting for what felt like hours, Cole descended the stairs from his room looking cleaned and fresh. He was wearing black suit with white dress shirt and a black tie, with his brown hair slicked back.

When he approached me, he gave me a smile and I gave him an annoyed look, “What took you so long to get ready, princess?”

“I had to look good for girls and I’m not a princess.” He snapped at the last part.

“Sure, you’re not.” I clicked my tongue.

“Just because—” He began to argue but I cut him off.

“Honestly, Cole, I don’t care. Let’s just go and get this over with, we’re already half an hour late. All thanks to you.” I said sarcastically and walked out the door to Cole’s shiny silver McLaren MP4-12C Spider.

Cole unlocked the car doors and I got inside the car before him. Few seconds later, Cole also came in and started the drive to the hotel where our company was holding the gala.

Twenty minutes later, we were getting out of the car in front of the building. Cole climbed out the car and extended his hand forward to me; I gladly accepted his extended hand and climbed out. As soon as we were out of the car there were flashes of cameras everywhere from the paparazzi’s.

Seeing as we were the son and daughter of the famous Mr. Christian West and Mrs. Victoria West. It’s not that our parents are famous Hollywood actors but they’re something more than that. Our dad is the owner of the biggest Architect Firm around the world. And as for our mom, she’s known as the famous Fashion designer Ria Pérez, also around the world.

Pérez was my mother’s last name before she got married to my dad. She had started her clothing line when she hadn’t even met my dad but when she got married she didn’t change her last name in the Fashion industry but legally her name is Victoria West in all the documents. And yes, my mother is Spanish; well half Spanish and half American, and when she married my dad who is American, I and Cole also became half Spanish and half American. Not that we mind.
