CHAPTER-5

" So then we walked to the ice cream parlour and ordered for mango and strawberry cone. When we got the ice cream..i didn't like the mango that i chose and i wanted the strawberry one." Amy went on. "But it was too late cause you already had half of it and i snatched it from you."

" and then i came in between to stop the fight but unfortunately i ended up fighting with you guys," Tesa said.

They all started laughing like crazy. I laughed too. But not with a whole heart.

" Tesa was my crush that time..so i asked her out," Ian said.

" But i said no. Of course no! Who's gonna say yes to a boy who always wore a cowboy hat and acted like a country boy!" She said.

"Haah right! How about now?" Ian asked raising an eyebrow at her.

She almost blushed and looked at him. " Unfortunately i had to be your girlfriend when you showed up with rose shaped cupcakes on my birthday..!"

It was lovely watching them talk and tease each other. I smiled at them.

"Aaaah we get it! We get it! We know you guys are too in love, it's disgusting to watch your own sister talking to your best friend like that" Jordan said.

Everyone laughed while i watched Lyle fix his guitar strings.

" What about you Lyle?" He looked at me as soon as I mentioned his name. His grey eyes were irresistible. I couldn't stop looking at them whenever i looked at his face. " How did you get connected with us?"

He opened his mouth to talk.

" oh boy...i wanna cry now. Can't believe she's asking us this.." Jordan said interrupting him.

Amy gave a glance at Lyle and looked away. Others sighed.

" i was connected with you" At last Lyle spoke out.

A range of happiness brought something up from my stomach to my oesophagus for a reason i didn't know.

"Ca-co-connected with m-me?" I asked pointing myself.

" Yea..you guys were like the pinkie and ringie on my hand...always close!" Tesa said lifting her small finger and the ring finger on her hand. "Childhood best friends"

"Oh.," i said with a disppointed-happy heart.

He was my best friend for years and i couldn't even remember him?

I looked at him. This time, i didn't look into those eyes. I watched his face change when he heard it.
He looked at me for a few seconds and focused on his guitar again.I saw some kind of sadness in his eyes. Is it cause i couldn't remember anything about him? Or is it cause of a reason i never knew? God! Why does it bother me so much!!

" We can still be best friends! "I said hoping that it would make him feel alright.

He looked at me as if i threw something on him. Everyone turned to us.

" Of course..why not," he said with half a smile.
He looked into my eyes. I felt like his eyes were a different part of an ocean that no one have ever discovered. And i was drowning in it.

I smiled back and looked away. I wasn't happy,i knew that. I looked at Amy. She was staring at both of us with a serious look; sitting on the cafeteria table. She rolled her eyes and got up.

"It's time. Let's go" Amy said.

Everyone got up to leave. But i couldn't let myself get up until i know about it.

" wait!" I said. "You told me everything about us..but you left out one thing.."

Everyone looked at each other, confused. Tesa walked to me.

" what is it?" She asked.

" Did I kill anyone?" I asked.

Everyone looked down and a little uncomfortable. Lyle walked out of the room without saying anything. Everyone watched him leave and then turned to me.

" You didn't kill anyone,Wee. We know it" Tesa said.

Ian came and held her hand. She glanced at him and then turned to me.

" But you're considered as the main suspect, " he said.

A silence spread all around.

" Ian.." Tesa said keeping a hand on his shoulder. " Let me do it." She walked to me.

" The night you got in the accident, people saw you with her. Almost half of the night." She said.

" They even noticed you shouting at each other that night. And you were really mad at her that time. So everyone's suspecting you" Jordan said.

"Why did i fight with her?" I asked.

They looked at each other while Amy came forward.

" You never liked her. No one ever did. She was always a step ahead of you. You never really cared....until.." Amy said and stopped.

" Until..?" My heart beat faster.

She sighed.

" Until you came to know that she was in love with your love."
