~One month later~

"Hey, where were you yesterday? Dinner was peaceful," Terrence joked as he approached Luna.

Luna scowled and replied with; "Somewhere," Training all day long

"Whoa, sorry," he smiled which caused Luna to smile as well.

"Mark!"

Their heads turned as they saw five unusual looking men approaching a man, a man who apparently was named Mark.

"New students?" she asked Terrence curiously.

"Yeah, I heard they've been causing trouble," Terrence answered as he snaps out of his reverie.

"They look-I think that they're a little bit too old to be new students," she muttered.

"Oh, that! Luna did you know I was sent here when I was around 24, I think," Louis mentioned as he appeared next to them in a snap, which caused Terrence to jump in surprise, that also caused Luna giggling.

"24? Don't you think that you're too old for... you know, for your parents to be making your decisions?" she asked and Louis and Rence sighed.

"Well, we didn't really have a choice," Rence lets out a puff of air, "When you get signed up by someone who cares about you, which is very likely to happen, you have no choice but to go." He continues.

"Does that happen to Graceland as well?"

"I believe so," Louis answered; Luna smiled apologetically.

"Where's the full moon?" Damien asked as he sat beside Luna.

"Well, my mom said something about 'doing something that may make me weaker,' so I believe this is what she was talking about," she answered, trying to soak herself in the moonlight of the moon to recharge herself.

"Why?" he asked as he checked his fingernails.

"Um... I suppose, it's because our town is in danger," she muttered which made his eyes wide as saucers.

"And you're not doing anything?!" he exclaimed; Luna shushed him.

"I'm trying; I just don't have a lead. I don't have powers! I just h-have THIS!" she flicked the moon; in an unlikely yet somehow possible event, the moon suddenly started to glow brighter until it's phase started to change, and it became a full moon.

"W-what? I-I-I could do that? I thought... I was about to... I was supposed to...," she stuttered and as she regained her composure, they heard a sound.

*Howl*

"What was that?" Damien asked her, slightly terrified.

"I don't know," she stood up.

Immediately, Luna understood. She knew this was it...

The Creatures

Its howl was low and menacing; it was loud and booming-like a thunder in a peaceful and serene night. Then one by one, more and more howls were heard. Some of them were near the two brave souls.

They heard leaves rustle, as well as a scratching sound.

A howl...

It was only behind them.

Their heads turned and their hearts stopped.

It was giant...

Its torso was humane, yet it was covered in fur. Instead of hands and feet, it had paws, which had razor-sharp claws as long as a nail. It had muscular legs and arms, and piercing eyes that could see its prey from a mile away. It's head was as of a wolf's and instead of a mouth, it had a snout.

It barred its teeth, and showed its collection of bone-crushing teeth that were undeniably pointed.

And they knew, it was a difficult match for Luna, the guardian.

But she wouldn't back down without a fight.

Thinking that it was a 50/50 match, she took her pistol from her holster.

Upon seeing this, the creatures laughed harshly; "You think you can defeat me?" it roared.

"Yes," she answered simply.

It smirked and said; "Well you thought wrong, princess," its voice was so deep and defeaning.

She smirked as well and showed her smaller set of sharpened teeth.

"I beg to differ,"

Damien was frozen to his spot though, "L-L-Luna?"

"Yes?" she stared the non-budging werewolf down.

"I-I don't t-t-think you should f-f-f-fight them," he stuttered, out of fear.

"Why?" she turned to him and saw that he was looking behind them.

When she turned she was surprised, there were 30-40 more of them, standing in a random position, all of which were ready to attack.

"Yes, listen to your sidekick, at least he's smart," it's voice showed mirth and mockery as it jeered at them.

"I don't believe in intelligence, werewolf, you're smart when you know how to try," her eyes narrowed like slits.

Her head tilted to the side as she said; "Well, it never hurt to try,"

Bang!

A werewolf fell, and they were all astonished.

It seemed that no-one knows their weakness.

"It was said that a wound that destroys the heart or brain kills a werewolf," she sneered.

The dead werewolf had a wound the size of a thimble on it's forehead, yet it was so deadly. The bullet was not made of silver, yet if it was made of silver, it would have made her job easier.

"You little bitch!" It rumbled

They knew it was outraged and furious.

It started to hyperventilate and as the two started to retreat to their dorms, all of the werewolves howled at once.

It was booming and ear-deafening...

They dashed to their rooms, but they knew they weren't fast enough.

They had no choice but to fight back.

They headed to their training area as they knew that most of their swords, shields, & daggers were composed of silver.

Infuriated, the pack of werewolves attacked.

With only two of them, they fired bullets, threw knives and swung their swords.

"I don't think we can handle them," Damien said as they both parried.

Thick, warm blood spurted on their clothes.

"We can do this!" she struck again but she was too early, and she got wounded.

She winced as a burning sensation was felt all over her arm.

"I can do this," she exhaled and winced as she accidentally added a little pressure to wound.

She lets the weapon glide and it leaves a long mark-from its collarbone to its abdomen-and in an instant, it fell to the ground.

She took a dagger and threw it; with a thump, it sticks to its chest.

Unfortunately, they weren't able to defeat a whole awful lot and they weren't able to leave unscathed.

Yet the thing that made her wonder most...

Is why nobody-even at least one of her three fathers or the thousands of gentlemen--didn't come to their rescue?

And with that thought, a mystery is added...
