A Restless Night

TigerPaw ran feeling the rough earth beneath his paws. Although his legs moved he seamed to remain in the same spot. The shadow drew near grabbing hold of his tail. He tried to shake it off but it began to absorb him in to the blackness. Minuets seamed like hours as the ink black crawled up his back. TigerPaw was pinned to the ground. As the darkness swallowed the rest of his muzzle his eyes shot open. TigerPaw glanced around. He was back in the apprentices den, mist wafting in the air. A sound came fro  outside and TigerPaw decided to check it out. The silver tabby apprentice, MoonPaw, was sitting outside the den grooming her glittering pelt.
"MoonPaw, why are you up so early?" He asked baring a friendly smile. She jumped and she looked around until her gaze landed on TigerPaw. Her expression changed from surprised to agitated.
"None of your business" she dismissed looking strait ahead. TigerPaw was immediately confused. Does she have to be so rude he thought. He suddenly realized he had never introduced himself. He padded in front of her.
"Hey, I forgot to mention my name, I'm TigerPaw!" He tried to sound cheerful to make her feel more comfortable talking to him. She merely glared at him with eyes as cold as her heart. TigerPaw could not hide his confusion. MoonPaw got up and stomped back to the apprentices den. TigerPaw stood in silence as he watched her tail disappear. He shrugged.
"Ladies, no one understands them." TigerPaw sat down on the cool earth and gazed at the sky. For a moment he thought he could just make out RavenKits face, then, something moved. He looked around and it seamed like every shadow, every dark space was growing larger and large. TigerPaw backed into the apprentices den seeking protection. A chill ran down his spine. TigerStar, the former Shadowclan leader, stood looming over him.

TigerPaw crept carefully, placing one paw in front of the other. His stomach brushed the undergrowth beneath him. Finally he was only a tail-length away from the rabbit. He could hear it's heart pounding. He dashed forward and pinned the animal to the ground. He gave it the finishing blow and picked it up. BlueFang, his father, beamed at him proudly.
"Nice catch my son" he purred. RobbinWing, his mother, had also been watching and gave TigerPaw a happy purr. He's become a fine hunter all thanks to me of course" OakTail boasted. BlueFang laughed.
"We'd better get that to camp, I'm sure the elders will be impressed" RobbinWing added. TigerPaw smile through the fur, it's not the elders I want to impress, he thought. He pictured the jealous expression MoonPaw would have on her face as he padded towards camp.
