The Abandoned Mansion

CHAPTER 5: Early rise. Time to be scared

I wake up to my alarm and throw on some clothes. Today, I really don't care what I'm wearing because I'm not going to school. I head downstairs after getting ready and get the keys off the counter and get into the car. I back up out of the parking lot and I start driving down to the mansion. It's still really dark out but I don't care. When I get there, I hop out of the car and close the door. I walk up to the entrance to the mansion and I stumble while trying to climb over all the trees and branches that are in my way. When I'm inside the mansion I turn my flashlight on and I start walkin around. I take my time as I'm looking through the first level of the place. I walk into what looks like the living room. To my surprise, it looks like someone actually lives here. I walk over to the corner to find a spider. I pick it up and I let it free outside the door that is in the living room. I walk back into the living room and I decide that there is nothing interesting so I leave the room and go up to the next. The next room seems to be the kitchen. There's pots and pans left out still. I pick the pans up and stack them onto the counter. My exploration of the mansion ends up being a clean spree for me. I finish gathering the pots and pans and finish stacking them and walk up the stairs. I end up in a bed room that looks gorgeous and still has stuff in it. I find a tv remote. I press the on button, to my surprise, it still works. I hear a noise over under the bed. I look and all I see is a folded piece of paper with my name on it. Why would this strange folded piece of paper have my name on it? I unfold it and start reading. My dear Penelope. I am very sorry I couldn't be here with you to see you grow up. Do you remember this place? I hope you do. We used to have so many good memories here. We would always play and you would always tell your mom you wanted to come back over everyday because you loved it here. God bless you child. You have grown so much. Therefore, I think it is time you know the truth. You are 17 now aren't you? Listen my dear Penelope. A dark, evil sprit has attached itself to you. Are you listening? You need help. You need all the help you can get my dear. Hear me out. If you don't get help by your 18th birthday, this evil spirit will attach itself to you forever and there will be NO WAY to get it out of you. In order for that, you must do as I say! 1: never go out alone (well you already broke that one huh?) 2: don't ever play hide and seek in this house. 3: bring your friends with you. 4: whatever you do, DONT unlock that corridor by the tv. And last but not least 5: do NOT tell your parents. They won't believe you! Trust me, I've been there. I love you very much Penelope. I hope this helps you!! May God Be In Your Favor! LET THE GAMES BEGIN!! I fold the paper back and walk over to the corridor the note said not to open. I open it anyway. I don't know who left this note with my name on it, but I don't believe what it says. I don't believe in ghosts or devil or anything evil. I find some gorgeous clothes in the corridor and I decide to take them. I mean no one is living here right? I take the clothes and I decide that I'm going to leave the house and go to school after all. I head downstairs and I put my hand on the knob. The door seems to be stuck. I turn the knob again and pull but it doesn't seem to budge. I flash my flashlight around the room and what I see scares me so much. Beside me, on the wall, I see a body. It looks like it may be a dead body. I go over to it to look at it. It's eyes are popped half way out, its hair is ripped in strands, there is dry blood around it. It's mouth is stitched shut. Looks like there's been a murder here. I pull out my phone and dial 911. They answer! "Hello. What's your emergency?" A nice young girl asks through the phone.
"Um hi. I decided to go exploring in an abandoned house and it was all going fine till I decided to leave so I walked to the door. The doors locked, it's not opening. I flashed my light around the room, and I ..... I think I saw a dead body!!" I say terrified.
"Ma'am. Calm down. Do you know your surroundings? Like where you are? The address? If you don't, than that is fine. We have your location." The dispatcher says.
I say okay and I hang up the phone.

I hear a loud scream followed by PENELOPE, YOU SHOULDNT HAVE DONE THAT!!! I turn around and next thing I know. Everything goes black!
