Chapter 3: "Don't Run Up The Stairs"

Josh and Cassidy make it to the hospital and Cassidy is rushed to the ER.

Josh called Madison "hello?" Madison said "hey, are you busy?" Josh asked "yeah, actually I'm going out with Beau tonight, why?" Madison asked.

"Cassidy's hurt" Josh said making Madison worry "what do you mean?" Madison asked "she was stabbed, by some guy with a hood" Josh said "I'll be there as soon as I can" Madison said.

Madison hung up and called Beau "hey, I'm on my way" Beau said "Cassidy's hurt, we're gonna need to take a raincheck on the dinner" Madison said.

A few minutes later, Beau pulled up and Madison got in the car and they drove off to the hospital.

"Is she okay?" Madison asked as she approached Josh with Beau following behind her "yeah, but she lost a lot of blood" Josh said.

Madison's phone buzzed, it was a text from Olivia's phone that read She broke rule #2 .

"Who is this?" Madison asked "what?" Josh asked. Madison showed him the text and also showed Beau.

Madison texted back who the hell is this? why did you hurt Cassidy?

Oh don't worry, you'll find out soon enough.

The next day, Madison was still creeped out by the text she received the previous night "hey, you okay?" Beau asked "huh? oh, yeah" Madison said.

"I just, I've been thinking about Cassidy" Madison said "It's okay Mads, I've been thinking about her too, but I know she's okay now" Beau said.

Beau hugged Madison to comfort her. Meanwhile at the hospital, Two police officers came into Cassidy's room for questioning.

"Did you see his face?" One of the cops asked, he was short and was probably in his mid-30s.

"Um, no, he had a hood over his head and was wearing a ski mask" Cassidy said.

"Ski mask?" The other cop asked, he appeared a lot younger than the other cop.

Cassidy tried sitting up but the stab wound on her stomach made it difficult.

"I think that's all we need, you have a good day ma'am" the short cop said as she and the other cop exited the room.

Cassidy grabbed her phone and proceeded to text Madison.

Madison received the text while in pre-calc and it read hey Mads! Madison was happy that Cassidy was okay and snuck her phone under the desk to text her back.

Hey, are you feeling better? Madison texted.

Yeah, the police just questioned me Cassidy texted that's kinda late Madison replied.

I know, It was really late Cassidy texted. Madison put her phone away the teacher walked by her.

"Hey, what's going on?" Beau whispered "um, Cassidy got hurt last night" Madison replied "what? how bad is it?" Beau asked worriedly.

"She was stabbed by--by a man, a serial killer" Madison said "Is she okay?" Beau asked "yea--" Madison said before being cut off by the teacher "shhh" the teacher said.

Madison rolled her eyes. After school, Beau caught up with Madison "I'm going to go visit Cassidy" Madison said to Beau "oh, can I come with?" Beau asked.

"I don't see why not" Madison said "hey, where's Melanie?" Beau asked "I don't know, she didn't show up to any classes and she hasn't answered my texts" Madison said.

Just then Madison's phone buzzed, It was a text from Julia, Melanie's sister Hey Mads, Is Melanie with you, she didn't come home last night.

The text worried Madison "what is it?" Beau asked "It's Melanie's sister, she said she never came home last night, Beau, something could of happened to her!" Madison said worriedly and in shock.

"Madison, Madison! Don't just go into that mindset okay, I'm sure she's fine" Beau said, calming Madison down.

When was the last time you saw her? Madison texted yesterday at around midnight when I got home from work Julia texted.

Have you tried contacting the police? Madison texted yes Julia texted okay, were headed to the hospital, maybe she's there to see Cassidy Madison texted.

Oh my god, what happened to Cassidy Julia texted she was stabbed but shes okay Madison texted okay, maybe Melanie is there please tell me if she's okay Julia texted.

Don't worry, we will Madison texted. Madison and Beau headed to car and drove off to the hospital.
