The True Middle School Story!

The First Morning

The dreading sound of their alarm clock went off with a ring. Mac was the first to turn it off as she rolled out of the bottom bunk. Her feet hit the floor with a thud. She reached for her glasses and slipped them on before continuing.Her short red and black pixie-cut was all over the place, with her bangs flying down into her face. Macs black tank top was crinkled from sleep and her white and black, leaf designed, pants flowed with her legs as they moved.
Maddie was only half awake when she heard the clock.

"Just five more minutes, mom!" She mumbled half asleep.

She closed her eyes and rolled over on her left side on the top bunk covering her head with her pillow. Her sheets were hanging off the edge of the railing, practically acting like curtains for Mac's lower portion of the bed. Pulling herself out of bed Mac reluctantly trudged to the bathroom and started brushing her teeth.

"Hey, Mads." Mac said with her tooth brush in her mouth, "Get up, lazy bumb!" She mumbled before continuing to brush her teeth.

"Ugh! Why do I have to get up?" Maddie said sitting up, her hair, short, dirty blonde, like a rats nest and her eyes only half open. Her pajama shirt was rinkled, as well as Mac's, and her feet peeked out of her rainbow colored sheets.

"It's the first day of school! How could you forget?" Mac mumbled before spitting into the sink and wiping her mouth with a blue hand towel.

"Oh my gosh!" Maddie eyes were wide open showing her kind brown eyes."Is it really the first day of school already?" She said kind of scared but excited.

Mac roled her green and grey eyes and smiled. Her phone rang as Maddie jumped off of the latter leading to the top bunk. Maddie rushed to the bathroom and started brushing her teeth, almost slipping on her unicorn slippers on the way.

"Hey," Mac started looking at her phone while sitting down on her bed,"did you notice that we have all classes together this year?"

"Yeah! To be honest, I didn't see that coming." Maddie said shocked.

Maddie spit into the sink and wiped her mouth with the towel and walked to her tall light pink dresser. Mac, on the other hand, got up and walked to their small kitchen to fetch a bowel of Kix cereal and poured some milk into her bowel. She sat down at their round dining table and started scooping a bite of cereal. Kassidy searched her dresser for a shirt that suited her day.

"It shouldn't be that hard," Mac said seeing Maddie's struggle,"we have a uniform anyways." She took another bite of her cereal.

"I know," Maddie started,"but I just wanted to look nice!" She winked at Mac.

Maddie danced around holding a red polo shirt up and a navy blue skirt. She changed and twirled around in her outfit.

"The unicorns exept my appearance!" Maddie said with delight.

Mac laughed and changed into a red Polo Shirt and khaki pants. She combed out her messy red pixie-cut hair, while Maddie brushed out her rats nest of dirty blonde hair. Maddie walked over to their front door and slipped on her star covered blue vanns. Mac goes to the door as well, but instead puts on her gray worn out convers.

"You know," Maddie started,"I think this year is going to be great!" Maddie confirmed with a smile.

Mac laughed."Yeah, this year might be better than last."

Mac frowned at the thought of last year, but quickly shoved aside the memory and continued to put her convers on. They both slip their backpacks on and walk out of their room. They walk down stairs hearing a creak with every step. Slowly they walked to the kitchen and saw a piece of toast waiting for them. They both were usually up before the rest. They turned around and headed out to the buss stop. And so the school day begins...
