I did not expect to wake up and find a stranger in my room. I also did not expect to find a hot stranger in my room or the fact that I was late for school. I screamed of course I did what any normal human being would do. My screams got cut short when an icy cold hand covered my mouth sub siding my scream and once again I did the normal thing a bit the hand. I heard a stream of curse words and immediately my hands covered my ears preventing me from hearing those horrid words. The man in my room gave me a curious gaze but his gaze soon turned into a started one when he heard footsteps come up the stair to my house. He turned towards the dark corner in my room and brought his finger up to his mouth signaling for me not to say anything.

Light flooded my room when a familiar family member entered my room. Dark brown hair and brown eyes adorned my sister’s face she was wearing skinny jeans and her jacket she had on her Uggs and her backpack in hand. I soon realized that she was yelling at me that I was going to be late for school and I only had two minutes to get in the car. It took a few seconds to realize what she was saying because I was still in shock from the man in the corner of the room. I stood up and glanced at him he had his eyebrows raised and an amused grin on his face. I ran to the bathroom and washed my face catching a glimpse of me. I saw long midnight black wavy hair green eyes and a tall slim body. I quickly was pulling on a pair of skinny jeans and a V-neck gray shirt. I ran down stair grabbed an apple a brush and my backpack and hopped in my off white and black mini cooper heading towards school.

My sister and I arrived at school discussing our usual topics of boys, gossip, and school. We got out of the car and turned our gazes towards the ivy covered brick building which held the highest education system our state had.

“Salem, why are you so quiet,” my sister, Ellie, asked.

My thoughts flashed back to the mysterious man in my bedroom. I wonder if he was still there. What’s his name? Why is he in my room? My sister quickly pulled me out of my thoughts by dragging me off to  school as I explained that I was not speaking because I had a test I had to study for. Lie. The bad thing about having a twin sister is she knew it too.

“In the year 1492, Columbus discovered this country……..” My A.P. History teacher dragged on causing most of the class groaned. My thoughts dragged back to that stranger in my room. I wanted to know more about him but I also figured that I probably never would see him again. Snap out of it Salem he probably was a robber and broke into your room because you left your window up last night to look at the stars. I realized it that that theory was probably true and became more worried as the time passed on. Had he left the house with all the belonging? The jewels in Mom’s jewelry box what about the money I had left under the mattress it was almost all my bank savings. I thought back to my schedule and realized I had a free period during lunch ,next period, I could sneak out make sure the stranger was out of the house call the police report it and then eat at home given the fact i was starving because I didn’t pack a lunch given I was late already. The bell soon rang and I rushed out of the classroom desperate to miss Ellie so she would not come with me or ask any more questions.

I arrived home in a matter of minutes seeing as I was speeding most of the way but I wanted to make sure he was out of the house. I parked a couple of blocks away so the stranger would not here that I had come in even though he had most likely left oh well better to be safe than sorry. I quickly walked into my house and saw some lights on I ran to the kitchen grabbing a butcher knife even though I would never come close to using it. I walked stealthily towards the light with the knife raise ready to ‘attack’. In a flash the knife was taken from my hand I was slammed into the wall beside me and the knife I wasn’t going to attack with was being held against my throat. I felt a warm breath in my ear. “Did you really think you could kill ME with THIS. I’m losing my touch apparently.” He whispered huskily in my ear chuckling to himself. His voice was like his hands ice cold it sent shivers down her back. He brought her back to like by sharply throwing the knife across the wall impaling the wall behind barely her missing her hair. This is when she screamed.
