The eye through the hole

Chapter 3

"Alex!" I yelled through the phone. I knew that whatever Oliver was about to do, it wouldn't end well for me. Oliver glided over to where I was standing and grabbed my neck. I could feel his grip tightening. He had an evil grin on his face. He began pulling me towards the kitchen and once we got there it began. He smashed my head against the countertop. I could feel the throbbing pain once again going through my entire body.
"Don't worry, when I said I'd make this quick I meant it." He said while looking in the drawers. I was trying to focus on what he was taking out of the bottom drawer but my vision was already starting to blur. It was only when he came closer to me again that I saw what it was.

It was a knife.

He examined the knife very carefully before finally speaking.
"You know I think my favorite part will be to hear that last pathetic scream of yours." With that he stuck the knife into the bottom of my jaw. I let out a blood curdling scream. He began cutting down until there was a jagged line down the front of my neck. As he let go of me I fell to the ground gasping for air, him hovering over me with that same evil grin as before. Then before he could stomp his foot down on my face to put me out of my misery a shadow attacked him. I didn't see anything, mostly because I was drifting in and out of consciousness, but I did hear something. I heard bones break m. Then I heard a loud crack. I was to weak to look around but I could feel two warm, strong arms wrap around my frail body and pick me up.

It was Alex.

"Lily, don't worry it's going to be okay!" He said sounding more like he was trying to convince himself and not me.
" I-is he dead?" I managed to sputter out.
"Yes," he said,"he's dead."
I could feel a slight smile creeping onto my face. I was finally free. And it was with that thought that I took my last breath, in the arms of the only person that ever cared for me. The only person that ever wanted to protect me...
