The unexpected

"Your face looks better," Ell said as she examined Louis' face a week after the party.

"Don't I know it," Louis said with a wink.

Ell rolled her eyes as she cleaned up the mess she made rebounding his less-fresh wounds.

"Hurry up, Simon text me saying a dude is at the studio with something important to say," Liam complained.

"I hope it's not that we lost the X-factor. We know already," Harry sighed.

"Speaking of something important to say..." Louis said as he rapped his arm around Ell's waist.

"Is Ell prego?" Zayn asked.

"I'm NOT pregnant," Ell said with her face turning slight red.

"No, but we are officially a couple," Louis smiled.

Niall's face dropped.

"Congratulations," Harry said smirking at Niall.

Niall looked to Ell brokenheartedly.

Louis kissed Ell's cheek as Ell gave Niall a sad smile.

"We better be going," Ell said in a hushed tone.

"Yeah, we should. I can't wait to hear about this news," Louis smiled at Ell.

The car ride there was awkward. Louis tried to be cute and romantic with Ell but she just rejected his sweet gestures. She stared at Niall longingly as he sat with a blank expression.

Louis and the other guys walked up to the studio jolly as always as Niall and Ell took their time.

"I don't know what to say right now. You are upset and seeing you like this makes me upset when I'm suppose to be happy. As my friend you should be happy too. But you're not," Ell said breaking the silence.

"Louis wants to sleep with you. He has since the day he first saw you. I'm scarred if you end up sleeping with him, he will leave you the next day. I don't want you to get hurt like that. Especially with your first," Niall said.

"I don't want my first to be like that either," Ell sighed.

"Why can't you tell?" Niall asked.

"About what?"

"That you're still a virgin."

"Because, he'll look at me differently. Things wouldn't be the same."

"I think he should know before he tries again."

"I know."

"And you need to tell him about the other thing," Niall said as he pointed to Ell's right hand.

"Yeah, no," Ell replied.

"Why not?"

"It's not something you tell your boyfriend the first official day you are together."

"He's going to find out eventually."

"But not today," Ell smiled as they walked through the studio door.

"Ell! Good, you're here," Simon said in relief.

"What? Why?" Ell asked.

Before Simon could reply, a young man started to walk over to Ell. Her face went white.

"Looks like he is going to find out today," Niall said under his breath.

"Elodie," the man said in adoration.

He gently grasped Ell's arms and kissed her. A short but sweet kiss. Ell quickly pulled away from him and backed up.

"What are you doing here?" Ell asked bitterly.

"I came to see you. It has been almost four years since we saw each other last," the man said calmly.

"What makes you think I never wanted to see you again?" Ell barked.

"Elodie? What's wrong?" he asked.

"Ell? Who is this guy?" Louis asked discombobulated.

"Do you not talk about me?" the man asked.

"I know who you are," Niall said as he crossed his arms.

"Another Irish. You're not worried about that family curse, are you?" the man smiled.

"You never answered my question," Louis cut in.

"I am Elodie's fiancee," the man said as he pulled Ell to his side.

"Ex-fiancee," Ell corrected as she pushed him away from her.

Louis' face turned red. He was intimidated by him. He was devilishly handsome. Tight, black curls as hair, laughing blue eyes, a smile that would make any girl go weak in the knees, and a whole bad boy persona. And to top it all off, he was a true man. Not a guy getting out of his teens, but a full grown man.

"Collin. The famous Irishman who supposingly broke Ell's heart," Collin said as he searched Ell's sad purple eyes.

"You did," Ell mumbled.

"How?" Collin asked as he crossed his arms.

"How? Are you seriously asking me that?" Ell shook her head.

"If you tell me why you are so mad, maybe I can give you an explanation."

"You want to know why? Fine. You freaking stood me up. I waited for you all night for you and you never came! Do you know how broken hearted I was especially after what we talked about? Uh? You jerk!" Ell yelled as she pushed on Collin's chest.

"How could I have gotten to you? He had eyes on me! If he knew where you were, he would have killed you!" Collin protested.

"Well, the tricks on you," Ell said as she shook her head.

"What do you mean?"

"He tried. He almost did. If it weren't for Dhanni, you wouldn't be talking to me right now," Ell said in a hushed tone.

"It's all my fault," Collin said as he stared angrily at the ground.

"Don't make this about you because we both know I started this. I may not have know what I started, but it's my fault. Just get away from me before I do something stupid," Ell yelled.

"I think it may be best for you to go," Niall said stepping in front of Ell.

"Who are you? Ell's little boyfriend?" Collin smiled.

"No, I am," Louis said stepping next to Niall.

"You're joking right? Ell. My Elodie Harrison dating a kid from a boy band?" Collin laughed.

"Get out," Ell said coldly.

"Elodie," Collin said sweetly as he started deep into her eyes.

"Please," Ell said softly.

Collin cupped Ell's face in his hands and kissed her forehead.

"I cannot deny you anything. Even in my own expense," Collin said as he let go of Ell and walked out the door.

The boys watched as Collin walked out, not bothering to look back.

"Now that is a man," Zayn confirmed.

"Shut up," Louis said through gritted teeth.

They were interrupted by a slit whimper.

Ell stood there crying as silently as she could. Her purple eyes filled with sorrow. Shoulders slumped. Arms weakly hanging at her side. Face showing emotional pain. Chest quickly moving up and down with ever breath she took. Ell looked heart broken.
