Louis pulled up to Ell's driveway with a cold expression on his face. It has not been a pleasant day.

"I don't know what I can say," Ell admitted.

"You don't have to say anything," Louis said as he turned off his car.

"No, I do," Ell protested.

Louis looked at Ell with hurt eyes and said, "You should have said something earlier. It's too late now."

"I was going to tell you."

"When? When Collin popped back into your life or when you picked a wedding date?"

"We are not engaged anymore. It ended years ago."

"Then why couldn't you tell me?"

"Because it is a very sensitive area of my life that very few people know about."

"Who? Niall?"

"Yes, because I know he wouldn't do anything stupid if I told him."

"Now you're calling me stupid? Listen I know you graduated high school when you were sixteen but that doesn't mean I'm stupid."

"I didn't say you were stupid. I said you would do something stupid."

"And Niall won't do anything stupid?"

"Not stupid enough to get himself killed."

"Killed? Ell, what is going on?" Louis asked in concern.

"It's not safe to talk about."

Louis hit the steering wheel and said, "Ell! Stop that! I am your boyfriend. I can protect you. Please tell me."

"It's best if we talked inside," Ell said looking out around her farm.

"OK," Louis said calmly.

Ell led them inside the house acting very paranoid. She jumped at ever sound, was on the look out, and was ready for anything that might pop up. Once they were alone in Ell's bedroom, Ell began to tell her story.

"When I was fifteen, I sold my soul to the devil without knowing it. There was a guy. Every girl at my school wanted to be with him. He was rich, powerful, even feared among some people. And he choose me. I felt like I was queen of the world. He treated me so well, I never wanted to leave him. But that treatment soon ended. I found out why he was so rich and powerful and feared. He was one of the top drug dealers in Europe. He picked me to use my farm to grow the product. I didn't have a say in any of it.

"He would start to beat me when I refused to sleep with him. I kept it hidden as much as possible but it got harder the more he beat me. Once Dhanni saw the brusies, cuts, and wounds, he knew. Dhanni destroyed the product at the farm and told the devil if he comes near me ever again, he will not hesitate to kill him. I had to graduate from high school that year to get away from him. Paul sent me to some family in Ireland were I would be safe till things cooled down. That's when I saw Collin again.

"Collin was best friends with my cousin. I always saw him in the summer when my mum shipped me off there. He was three years older than me but we were childhood sweet hearts. He was off at college for several summers so I haven't seen him in years. And there he was. We fell back in love with each other the moment our eyes locked. It was magical. But he told me he was in trouble. It turns out he had to deal for the devil every now and then to help pay for college. The devil could now find me. Collin decided the best way to get away from him was to leave. We decided to elope to the small town my grandmother grew up in the country of Canada. He had a job offering there and I could finish my studies. It was the perfect plan.

"We were to meet at the airport to fly there together. I waited all night for him, and he never showed. I loved him enough to leave my family and go to a country where I know no one. But he wasn't. I was devistated. Dhanni came for me to take me home were it was now safe. What he thought was safe.

"To get my mind off of everything, Paul and Dhanni decided to take me to our private beach to let go. Paul and everyone else who came went on his boat to do some fishing while I stayed at shore. I really wanted to be alone. But I wasn't. The devil followed us there and was waiting till I was alone. Thankfully, I saw him coming before he got to me. I took off to the ocean to try to swim out to the boat. But he was a better swimmer.

"He grabbed me and held me under water. I did everything I could to get free. Nothing worked. He was too strong. My head felt dizzy, I couldn't feel anything, everything was going black. Next thing I knew, I was on Paul's boat. Everyone was surrounding me. I almost died if it weren't for Dhanni and some other guys who swam after me. The devil got away unharmed though. Since that day, I've never been the same," Ell said with tears running down her face.

Louis could have never imagianed it being this bad. Not that someone could hurt an innocent kid like that. Not that someone could be so heartless. Not that someone would want to kill Ell. Not that someone could be so power thirsty they would hurt anyone to be on top. Atleast, not in real life.

It reminded Louis of his favorite movie The Table has Turned. The best corrupt government movie of all times. It even had his Hollywood crush, Vera Quinn, in it. But this was real. Not a movie where you wake up the next day and know it's all fake.

"I had no idea," Louis said as he pulled Ell into his arms and let her cry.

She cried a river on Louis' shoulder. Ell let it all out. It was harder for her to tell Louis than Niall. Niall would not judge her. Not look at her differently. But Louis would. She knew she was a delicate flower about to fall apart to him now. But she wasn't. She was strong.

A callus grew over Ell's heart the moment dawn came at the airport and Collin still didn't show. She didn't let anyone in. She would drink her pains away. Ell survived years of plastering a smile on her face. The only way she could truly express herself was through song and dance.

No one can understand Ell. She is to unique. It didn't take her long to figure that out. She sucked it up and went along with life. She believed Niall could understand a layer deeper than everyone else. There was something different about him. He actually tried to understand. Even if he didn't, he knew what to say. Niall meant the world to Ell. If she lost him, Ell wouldn't know what to do.

Author's Note-- Ell may seem like a b word every now and then, but she is just so scared she doesn't notice. Please try to understand that she is not a bad character. When I first invented Ell, she was perfect and everything was going for her but my mind likes to change things. In the future, you are going to hate her, but please know it's not really her fault. I hoped you likes this chapter. If you did, please comment and vote. Thanks for reading!
