I looked over at Ian.

One year ago, we almost died.

But that experience led to the best year of our lives.

He's laughing.

He looks so happy.

I love him.

I'm so glad we almost died.

It's funny; something that seems horrible at the time can actually open up amazing opportunities.

But, what do I know?

I'm just a thirty year old man, who has the best job and the best boyfriend he could ever wish for.

One year ago, I almost lost that.

I almost lost him.

I'm never letting that happen again.
