(??? Pov)

I had to hurry, there was no telling when he would notice I was gone and send my sister to come get me. I was in the city library staff room opening my locker quickly changing out of the long black skirt to a pair of light blue ripped jeans. I ditched the light blue oversized sweater stuffing it inside the locker and put on the maroon hoodie over my black tee shirt. My father was an owner of several libraries with a connection link of internet cafes on the side of the quiet, but usually packed, libraries.

The internet cafes were soundproof obviously with the occasional interruption of the door opening to loud chatter and cheering going on inside the room that would reach the outskirts of the large building that was surrounded by the best books you could find to kids nursery books and where's Waldo. I had convinced my father to add a section for manga and comic books. He wasn't too thrilled about the idea but if he was able to have one of the loudest places on the planet besides an amusement park next to a library, I could have the enjoyment of reading books with pictures on my break.

I've always loved reading ever since I was a young girl, my older sister had spent more time outside than I did since we used to live out where there were more trees than buildings but I still had my love of books to keep me company when my sister dragged me outside to watch her shoot an arrow at a tree.

So here I was, in charge of the library while my sister  is at the internet cafe making sure no one breaks the equipment otherwise she'll break their finger. My father stayed in his office at the cafe most of the time taking care of paper work and probably accepting some challenges to play a game against the friendly teens who liked to get him out of his office once in a while. He always wins against them.

I walked out of the staff room heading down the steps to the first floor of the empty library taking out the messy bun my bright red hair was in letting it fall down to my lower back and grabbed the car keys to my truck off the front desk dashing out the front door. I knew just where I was heading when I locked up the library hanging up a sign that said 'Closed for the holiday.' My dad was strict when it came to his business and was actually pretty wealthy.

Once I got into my truck and started it, I was quickly heading to the one place I truly enjoyed spending time at every year.. The Fall Carnival! It was absolutely the most wonderful place to go to and I went every year without telling my father. After a minor accident when I was younger, he never let me outside unless I was with someone else. I still went out regardless of the warnings he gave me. He said I was special and had a gift just waiting to be discovered just like my sister.

Still, I had promised Lucinda I'd help her with her fortune telling booth and get rid of her splash potion of blindness since she made too many. I keep my promises to my friends no matter what, and Lucinda is my best friend.

I pulled into the parking lot and shut off the engine taking in the scenery of orange leafed trees and pumkins on top of hay bales all around the parking lot. I was thrilled to be here and would wish for this day to never end. Stepping out of the car in my black flats, I grabbed my black, ankle high converse and switched shoes quickly before tossing the flats in the back seat.

With myself all good to go, the truck off and locked, I ran to the entrance as fast as I could. There was this group of people standing around the entrance watching some girl with black hair prance around excitedly. I think she was drooling, me too girl, me too.

I was already late enough as it is, Lucinda probably has her booth set up already. I hurried past the group accidentally shoulder checking one of them. "Hey..!" they yelled but I didn't turn around. I waved my hand in the air and breathed out a short but firm "Sorry! In a hurry, I'll buy you food as an apology if I see you later!" I bought my ticket and headed in having no idea what I had gotten myself into.

So. I wasn't sure what side story version it was so I kinda took a mystreet style. I rewatched two episodes and the only thing that really gave off the mcd vibes was Katelyn punching the main guy who was hitting on them with her mcd weapons. I might roll with this version though. But! It's revised and new. I wasn't happy with the old version so I kinda just redid it. This is a short story though. There's only three episodes for the side story so I might merge it to the main story line. It's a pretty short chapter since it's the prologue, but I hope you enjoyed it!!
