【 V's P.O.V 】
I stared out at the sea. It's blank expression and emptiness never seemed to frighten me. Out here in the dark, I felt like I could be myself and not somebody that I didn't know. While the sea began to envelope my body in a shroud of darkness, I heard a sound. A familiar sound. I opened my eyes and there standing in front of me was my father. He was tapping his foot on my bedroom floor and peering at my desk full of scattered and torn pages. He picked one up steadily.
"Taehyung? Is this your homework?"
"Yeah. Why do you ask father? Is something wrong?"
"Why don't you ever do anything your mother and I tell you? Jungkook is always so polite and obedient. Why can't you be like that instead of collecting girly stuffed animals and not studying?"
This type of conversation haunted me everyday. I wanted to shout and tell my father that I would never be like the small golden maknae who was the star of our band. Even before I became part of the Bangtan Boys, I knew Jungkook or at least my parents knew his parents. Truthfully, Jungkook was everything parents would want in a child. He was good looking, had very good grades in school except English and did everything without throwing a fit or arguing. I always wondered if he really was human.
"I'm nothing like Jungkook and I'll never be."
"That's for sure with the attitude you have right now." My father threw my torn piece of what I called, homework and left the room, slamming the door shut.
I sighed in relief. I was glad to be rid of him for now. Sometimes I wished my mother would come home once in awhile. She's always traveling to different places and keeps sending me postcards from where she had visited. I try to call her, but she never responds. Suddenly, I felt my phone buzz against my bedsheets. It's Jin.
"Hello?"
"Hi V!" V was my nickname which stood for victorious.
"Hey hyung, what's up?"
"We are having a rehearsal for our new song Fire tonight 12:00 sharp!"
"Alright I'll be there..."
"Okay great! Kookie won't be able to come for some reason. Probably extra classes his parents made him do or something. Well, I'll see you soon!" He hung up.
"Stupid Jungkook!" I threw my phone angrily on my bed. I swear he never comes to rehearsals. Always busy doing something academic. I wonder why he even joined in the first place if he can never come and practice. What an idiot...

That night I had to wait until 11;30 before I could sneak out and go meet the gang. My father hated it when I went out at night. I don't even think he knows that I'm in a band. If he knew, I swear he would kill me and ban me from ever meeting my band members again.
I got out of bed making sure that my father was asleep and all the lights outside of my bedroom were turned off. I put on my red and black hoodie that was lying on the floor and decided to just stick with my pajama pants. Maybe this once I could bring my favorite stuffed animal, my fluffy adorable lion. I hugged it close to my chest and grabbed my phone which already had a bunch of texts from our group chat.
11:00
Goldenkook: Sorry I can't come guys. I hope you understand. ;)
Pinkprincessboi: Don't worry! You can practice at home. We understand.
Goldenkook: Thanks Jin hyung, I know I can count on you.
Jiminiejams: You know Tae is going to hate you right?
Smilinghope: Shh, V is in this...
Jiminiejams: Oh right...
Goldenkook: I know...tell him I apologize... Anyways gtg.
Pinkprincessboi: Bye! Get a goodnight's sleep!
Jiminiejams: See you
Smilinghope: Bye little maknae
I frowned as I saw the conversation and slid my phone in my pocket and walked outside. The cold air enveloped me and I went off to Namjoon's house.
