After almost defeating that Alpha the other day, Alyra was feeling a bit unworldly. She knew that news would spread fast among the packs that she, a common wolf, had the guts to even fight an Alpha. Other packs would not help her now, she would not be able to get her food without the help of others. That was always her plan, to ask for help when she needed it. But now, she was scared to even face them. She would just have to live off of rabbits until winter was gone. She growled slightly as she walked along a riverbank, fish jumped out of the lightly ice-coated water in the middle of the river, too risky.
'Alyra' she froze, looking around with wild eyes, who was talking to her? 'Alyra darling, where are you?'
"I'm right here..." she whispered only to realize that no one was around her, she was alone. 'Alyra, can you hear me?' she nodded.
"Yes I can here you, where are you? Who are you?" she spun around thinking the person was behind her, but nothing was there. 'Alyra answer me, can you hear me?!' the voice began to get worried, it was starting to sound more and more like a woman's voice. 'Alyra? Alyra where are you?! come here!' she craned her head enough to keep the scab on her neck from opening up.
"Where are you!" she screamed. There was still no one there, she didn't know where this person was, how could she contact this person who wasn't real? 'Alyra come to me darling, come to us.' us? there's two of them? she growled, this was starting to annoy her, she could hear them but not see them, they could talk to her but she couldn't talk to them.
"How can I answer you if your not real!" she began walking again. 'Alyra listen to me! you need to answer me i know you know how!' She winced at the intensity of it's words, she knew how to contact them? 'Just think about it Alyra, it will come to you eventually' that voice sounded more rough than the first, it didn't have the softness of the other, it must have been male. She thought about everything she knew for a very long time but nothing seemed to fit with what they said, she didn't;t know how to contact them. Why did they claim she did? It all didn't make sense, they can't claim something that wasn't true, can they? She shook her head, they couldn't. She walked past the river's bend and began to run with all her speed. She had to get away from what ever was talking to her. 'Alyra, talk to us! you need to remember us, you have to!' she ignored it and kept running, they weren't going to get her attention. 'Alyra! Listen to her! find it inside you this is important!' the male voice said, why were they bossing her around like a child? She wasn't a child anymore, she never was. The voices began to bombard her, yelling and screaming demands at her, she couldn't take anymore. 'Stop it! just stop it!' she yelled, but it wasn't out loud, she had thought about it and directed it at the voices. The voices were silent, had they heard her? 'Alright Alyra, darling.' She huffed as the feminine voice filled her head. 'You figured it out Hun, you figured out how to talk to us.' Alyra stopped, she figured it out? how? all she did was scream to the voices inside her head. 'What did I do?' she asked quietly, as if the forest around her could hear their conversation. 'You figured out how to talk to us darling. Although you learned how to do that when you were a pup... but now you remembered!' the female screamed in her mind, what did she mean Alyra knew how to do that as a pup? If she had learned how to do that, wouldn't she remember? She wanted to ask them so many questions about what was happening, why she could talk to them through her mind? But she decided that the answers would come to her soon, for now she would ask the most important question.
'Who are you?' there was a long pause, like her question had insulted them in some way. 'You-you don't remember who we are?' the female voice sounded like it was quivering with tears 'How could you forget us Alyra!' she cried, every inch of pain was present in her voice 'It's alright Reya, we have been gone a long time...' the male voice reassured the female whose name was apparently Reya. The female sobbed in Alyra's mind, making her want to cry herself, she was never this affectionate towards anyone, ever, what was going on with her? 'I know Zion' she sighed 'I just can't help myself, she doesn't remember the people who gave birth to her...' Everything slowed down, like gravity and time were being swallowed whole by a deep, dark nothing. Alyra's breath fastened it's pace, making her a little light headed as her heart raced with the information. They were her parents? How could they be her parents?! Why would they abandoned her at such a young age! Alyra's blood began to boil with anger, these people thought they could barge into her mind, claim they are her parents and have the audacity to talk to her now?! 'How can you be my parents! You left me as a pup, I forgot everything! And now Alphas are trying to kill me! I've been bitten and broken many times over and not once did you guys come to save me, not once!' a silence fell amoung them, she had hurt them deeply she knew that much, she awaited the tense hurt in one of their voices but heard nothing. No one dared to talk, no one spoke a word. In her mind Alyra heard her father sigh and say 'All answers come within time Alyra, we shall tell you what we know. But at the right time.' The right time? when was the right time to tell her why they left her? When was the right time to say 'we didn't want to leave' the answer was simple to Alyra. There was no right time. She pulled her mind away from her parents and began walking again, this was a lot to consume in one day, especially after a fight. She thought still about what they looked like, now that she knew what they sounded like, she wanted to know who they actually were. But she needed more information from them, she needed to know where they were in the world. Maybe then she could find them and actually have a family. Maybe she would be happy.
