"Can you pass me the pitcher" Asked Bryan.
I stood at the pub day dreaming about nothing in particular it was just this habit of mine where I zoned out and not bothered to return in reality. Bryan snapped his fingers in front of me that broke my trance and I blinked.
"I might have to try some spell on you for your span of attention" Bryan smirked at me.
"Sorry" I added lamely.
"That pitcher" He said again with a sign. I quickly passed it to him and I tried very hard to concentrate without zooming out again. It was comical in a way I had a balanced level of concentration for my studies but not for work, when usually it's a different story otherwise. Rest of the shift went smoothly and it was time for a wrap up.
I was walking quietly beside Bryan, making no sound. He was pretty quite too. I was in a dilemma, trapped in a corner how to start a conversation about Potter with Bryan was giving me a rash. I would have never bought him up between us if the circumstances never demanded the explanation. I bowed my head down staring at our coordinated foot steps, walking in sync.
"You are missing out your stars today, love" I heard Bryan's low voice.
"sky is dark, stars are rarely out Bryan." I said in a hushed tone.
"There is always one, if not many." He replied placing his hand on my shoulder.
"I know." I smiled at him, leaning my head on his shoulder, it was a short walk from pub to our apartment but it felt longer than usual. we had our dinner earlier, not hungry I called out night narrowing the habitual chatter between us. I closed the door behind me walking to my bed I sat on my bed staring at my Quiditch poster as tho it was gonna answer my way out. I changed into my PJ and even my brain was tired in long time I drifted into sleep in no time.
Darkness I ran and ran but I seem to run out of light, "Lumos!" I exclaimed waving my wand nothing. "Lumos!!" I said louder and clearly again. Nothing.! I heard a snap and looked for the noise I found my wand broken in two. Oh god.! I kept running to the dead ends. There is no way out. I felt my breathing ragged, like walls were enclosing me in. I shouted for help but I met silence. And then I heard a Sharp wind passing through my ears I heard a distanced voice. The voice. It said my name, only my name, 'Ginny' In slow whisper as tho it was going to catch me this time.
I woke up from the sharp beeps of alarm, sweat dripping of me, panic in my eyes and my heart on fire it was rapidly beating against my rib cage, trying to break free. I moved my dammed wet hairs from my temples, wiping away the sweat and fear along. What made them come back? I got rid of them, they no longer bothered me, it's been a while, then why? and why won't it stop? It was getting darker and stronger day by day just like old times.
I got out of my bed and headed straight for a hot shower trying to shook the dream along.I was getting dress when I heard knocks on my door sharp knocks, I stayed quite and let Bryan do his drama, After knock banging started hard and non stop, I thought I might go deaf with his door abuse, My eyes winded, I never realised I slept like a deaf person or a drunk. I knew I was a deep sleeper but this was too much.
I went for the door and quickly moved out of the way dodging his hand "Come on Ginny. Get up!" He was mindlessly saying it eyeing newspaper in his hand. I shoved him and went past him he din't move for a minute then slowly turned. His mouth was hanging low and he was staring at me in a way which made me slightly uncomfortable I adjusted my knee skirt and white blouse, which reminded me of my early days with Bryan as his roomie, I chuckled at the memory and went for my coffee.
"What did I just saw? Are you sick or me? Or Am I drunk or you?" He asked me scratching his head in a cute way.
"All above!" I smiled at him. He squinted his eyes at me and made a poker face. I rolled my eyes at his expression I started making breakfast, Boiling some eggs for me and an sunny side for him, I felt him in Kitchen glaring at me or trying to analyse me. He made toast and we worked in union. We ate together as a routine and talked and argued as always. Unless he asked my day plans. That were my mask began to spill. He caught my eye this time and locked mine with his.
"I plan to study Bryan" I said.
"But it's Friday!" He whined.
"I know, But I have a lot to catch, you know exams are coming." I replied.
"You don't need months ahead preparation we both know this." He raised his one eye brow.
"With all this Madam Finn chaos I left many classes, I need to settle the pages. You know I will get living day night mares about that." I pouted and there was a change in his posture. which made me relaxed too.
"Okay. go on, or else you will spoil my weekend too, Have fun with study date.! And call her witch Finn now on!" He said in a bored tone and my breath got hitched. On obvious part of course I ignored it.
"I will see you soon." I got up and cleared my plate washed my mug and went for my notes, I stuffed my bag, ready for the day.
"I din't thought you were going out." Bryan made an confused look.
"I din't tell you, I am going to library. You got house to yourself! feel free to clean." I grinned at him. He made an stupid face.
"Or Party" He winked and moved his eye brows up and down in a funny dance. I shook my head and went outside.
With a deep sigh I squared my shoulders high and went on for my destination. Prinstin Library.
