~|Chapter 12|~
•The one with screaming Tyler•
"Aaron, we want in on movie night."
The triplets were standing in front of Aaron and me. We were both sitting comfortably in the couch, my legs sprawled across Aaron's lap. We were both busy doing our homework together, my enemy was Chemistry while Aaron's was Calculus.
"What do you mean?" Aaron looked up from his notebook when the triplets arrived. "What do you want me to do?"
"We want you to convince mom to take us to the movies." Brian said.
"We so don't need Tyler and Joey babysitting us," Roddy added. "We can take care of ourselves."
"Again, what is it that you want me to do?" Aaron repeated. "I can't just go and tell mom to let the three of you come with us. You guys always make a nuisance of yourselves."
"Hey Brandon," Brian asked. "Don't you remember the picture we took of Aaron with that trashy magazine he had? How'd you think mom would react when she saw that?"
The effect was immediate. A scowl appeared on Aaron's face and he made an irritated face at his brothers. "Fine," he spat. "I'll see what I can do." Aaron grumbled. "But the three of you better not be playing pranks on us. And that includes all of the other crap you guys pull."
As soon as Aaron stopped speaking, Mary walked in, followed by Jake and Tyler. She saw Aaron and me seated on the couch and said, "Aaron, go and get ready. We're leaving in fifteen minutes."
Jake, I noticed, had cleaned up for movie night. He was looking nice in a blue shirt with his sleeves rolled up. What was going to happen to my heart after I left the Brady's? I was going to be depressed to the point of extinction without all my eye candy I had here.
The triplets gave Aaron a pointed look. I sat up from my sprawled state, retracting my legs from Aaron's lap.
"Um, mom," Aaron began. "Why don't we take the triplets with us? They're not going to do anything."
"The triplets? What has gotten into you, Aaron?" Mary asked. "Last time we took them, they set fire to the seats."
"They what?" I couldn't help but ask. I had a new respect in my eyes when I glanced at the triplets again. They were trying desperately not to grin, but I could make out the twinkle in their eyes.
Mary silenced me with a look. She was becoming more and more like my mother now. Earlier, she used to treat me like I was easily breakable, but now she was slipping into her motherly role more easily now. And it made me feel more...normal.
"Yeah, actually mom," Aaron cleared his throat. "That was me. It was my fault; I was the one with the lighter."
Mary didn't look like she believed him. "Aaron, what has gotten into you? Why are you lying to me?"
"No, mom, I'm not." Aaron said. "I feel really guilty about it. Please don't punish them for something I did."
Jake and Tyler burst into laughter, which they tried to cover by coughing.
"Okay, Aaron," Mary said sweetly. "I believe you. Why don't you stay at home with Tyler and Joey?"
"Thanks mom. Wait, what?"
