Chapter One
Addie's POV
Ding! I heard a noise coming from my window. I opened up my curtains and saw Katie leaning out her window from the house next to mine. I opened up my window.
"What in the world did you throw at my window?" I asked her. You see, me and Katie have been best friends since we were five. We met because our houses are right next to each other and we were both new to town and had no one else to play with. It only made sense that we would become best friends sooner or later. But I'm glad it was sooner.
"A rock. I got a whole bucket of them right here next to my window" Katie replied, holding up a small bucket with rocks in them. I rolled my eyes at her.
"You're pathetic. What do you want?" I asked.
"I need to know if this outfit is okay"
"It's fine"
"Fine? Fine? I need perfect! Not FINE!"
"Okay, sorry. It's beautiful"
"Shut up!"
"Love you too" I yelled. Katie went farther back into her room to get a different outfit. I went over to my computer and checked a couple of things. About a minute later a rock came sailing through my window and hit my dresser.
"What now?" I asked, making my way to the window.
"What do you think now?" Katie asked. She had on a pair of ripped skinny jeans and a dark blue flowy top.
"It's perfect" I said. All I was wearing was a knee-length skirt with a belt and a black flowy top tucked in and a girls fedora hat. Plus my converse.
"It better be. Meet me downstairs in ten" She said, already grabbing her bag. I grabbed a couple books and my homework and stuffed them into my bag. When I got downstairs, I grabbed a my younger brothers waffle right out of his hands and stuffed it into my mouth. I decided to sit down and watch T.V. until Katie was ready to go.
Katie's POV
Major outfit crisis. I think Addie was lying when she said my outfit was perfect. Whatever. If it was terrible she would have at least told me that. OMG great idea, I should go shopping!
I run downstairs and see David sitting at the table, "Hey David, you should get going."
"I have to wait for Mary Kate and Josh."
"Right, hey make sure Nathan, Adelina, and Juliet wake up before you go."
"Okay."
I ran out the door and ran over to Addie's, we were already late. I opened her door and screamed, "HEY ADDIE, GET OUT HERE, WE'RE GONNA BE LATE."
She ran out and we walked to school together. We got there and separated, I have to math for first period and she had English. When I got there, I heard a voice behind me, "Hey beautiful."
I looked behind me to see Sean come and sit next to me. "Hey!"
Oh yeah, Sean's my boyfriend, if anyone else said 'hey beautiful' to me I probably would have slapped them. Sean was an amazing football and basketball player. He wasn't one of those annoying self obsessed football players, he played the sport because he genuinely liked it. Most guys played because they looked good in a jersey. None of them beat Sean of course.
Mr. Johnson came into the class and started teaching, me and Sean spent the whole time writing and drawing notes to each other. Then suddenly, we heard a voice behind us, "Would you like to tell the class about these notes that you've been taking. I'm sure the class would love to hear what you wrote to help you on the test on Thursday."
We both turned around and saw Mr. Johnson staring at us, with his hand out for us to give him the note.
I picked the note up and put it into his hand. He read from it, "This is so boring, when are we gonna learn something we'll actually use."
"Well Ms. Jones, I believe if you'd paid attention you'd have learned something you'll actually use because if you had ever paid attention, you'd know that gonna is not a word. It's going to."
I tried to control my giggling. I laughed at basically everything so I can't actually tell you why I thought it was funny.
"Detention Ms. Jones. And you too Mr. O'Toole."
"I have a football game tonight and there's a practice before it. So I can't do it today."
Sean smirked. "Then you will do your detention tomorrow, it will actually be better if you and Ms. Jones are in different detentions, clearly you two can't be together."
He walked off and we both started giggling uncontrollably. Ugh guess this ruins my plans to go shopping today. Addie will be disappointed. Well we'll go tomorrow, I was planning on hanging out with Sean tomorrow but I guess he has detention so me and Addie are going shopping! Oh crap I've been talking to myself in my mind. Oh why is everyone leaving the class, did the bell ring? I left class and ran into Addie in the hall.
"Hey!"
"Hey, we can't go shopping today anymore cause Johnson gave me detention."
"We were planning on going shopping today?"
"Oh yeah, I forgot to tell you that. Yeah, me and you wanted to go shopping after school."
"Oh ok, we'll go tomorrow."
She doesn't even care that I didn't ask her about shopping, she's used to me assuming she'd do something with me. She does the same with me. We know everything that's going on in the other's lives so we don't even have to ask if the other's busy. It's a great system.
