Chapter 2

Chapter Two

Katie's POV

Me, David, Mary Kate, Josh, Nathan, Adelina, Juliet, Jesus, and Cale were in the living room playing Monopoly when Addie walked into the house. "Hey everybody!"

"Hey Addie." We all screamed, not in unison cause that's basically impossible.

She walked into the room and sat down and grabbed a playing piece and put it on the board. We had only just started playing and not everyone had had their first turn yet so she wasn't behind.

We played this game alot, we all knew which pieces we wanted cause we used the same pieces everytime. Addie ended up playing with us a lot.

"Hello!"

"Hey mom, hey, how was work." we all said different things but the gist of it was the same.

Kendra walked in and set down her bag. "Hi Addie, how are you doing, I haven't seen you in a week."

"Great Mrs. Boyd"

Then Michael walked in, he kissed Kendra then turned to us. "Hi kids, hi Addie."

"Hi Mr. Boyd, hey dad, hey Michael, how was work?"Again we all had different words, and again, the gist was the same.

I feel like I should explain why I call my parents, Kendra and Michael. Well, they're not my parents, I'm a foster kid. So is Adelina, Juliet, Jesus, and Cale. Josh and Nathan are Michael and Kendra's biological kids. Mary Kate and David are twins, Michael and Kendra adopted them.

So now you understand how theirs nine kids in the family and why most of us don't call them mom and dad. 

We're foster kids but most of us have been here for years. Adelina and Jesus are siblings and they've only been here for 9 months, Adelina's 12 and Jesus's 17. Juliet has been here for 3 years, she's 11, Cale's been here for 7 years and he's 13. I've been here the longest, for 9 years! They adopted Mary Kate and David when they were 10 6 years ago. Me, Mary Kate, and David are the same age. Nathan and Josh are 15.

The foster program sucks. I mean half of us haven't even had people come to meet us to see if they want to adopt us. Juliet has only been here 3 years and she's already had 2 people come to look at her, it's because she's young and adorable, she's had more poeple meet her than anyone else. Lucky jerk. I kid of course, I love Juliet but seriously I've been here 9 years and no one's come to meet me. Sigh!

Addie's POV

Since Katie had detention yesterday, we are going shopping today. 

"Hey David, Mary Kate, Josh, Nathan, Adelina, Juliet, Jesus, and Cale" I said as I walked through the front door of Katie's house. 

"Hey" They all said at different times. 

"Where's Katie?" I asked, immediatly regretting it. All of Katie's siblings started talking at once. 

"STOP! You, where's Katie?" I asked Juliet. 

"In her room" Juliet said. 

"Thanks" I said, running upstairs.

"KATIE! I TOLD YOU TO BE DOWNSTAIRS IN TEN!" I yelled, storming into her room. Katie was on her laptop.

"Oops, sorry" She said, not really sounding sorry.

"Come on. Lets go" I said. We both climbed into my car and drove to the mall. When we got there, Katie said, "Oh, lets go to Forever 21" Before I could even respond, she grabbed my hand and dragged me towards Forever 21. After buying like 10 things at Forever 21, we both went over to Rue 21. We really like the 21 stores. After going to 5 other stores, we went to the food court to get some things to eat. Once we were done eating, we got up and started to walk around the mall a bit.

"These bags are getting heavy, want to drop them off at the car and go to some other stores?" I asked. Katie agreed and we started heading towards my car. On the way there, we passed the Apple store where I spotted a very familier face.

"Hey, " I said as I walked up to Ben.

"Oh, hey cutie! What are you doing here?" He asked.

"Just doing our monthly shopping spree. What are you doing here?" I said.

"Oh, my iPhone broke and I'm getting a new one" He said. 

"Thats cool. Well we better go. We're going to drop off these bags and go back for more" Ben rolled his eyes.

"Girls. Alright, see you later, cutie" He said. I gave him a quick kiss and me and Katie started to head towards my car. I better explain who Ben is. Ben is my boyfriend. I know, stating the obvious. I think that Ben is, by far, the cutest guy at our school. Katie thinks he's cute but would never agree to the "cutest guy at our school" thing. She thinks her boyfriend Sean is the cutest guy at our school. Yeah he's cute but not as cute as Ben. Anyways, Ben is the nerd at our school. He wears glasses but has cute brown hair. He really likes photography and techno stuff. He's cute like that. After me and Katie dropped off our bags, we went back to the stores to get some more clothes and accessories. We decided to go back home when the manager of Dillards threw us out because we were trying on a bunch of really expensive dresses and not buying any of them. Just a regular day at the mall.
