Chapter 2
The Couch was in its full glory nothing more than a giant clearing of dirt in an orchard somewhere in the middle of the country in the next town over, crammed with presumably drunk teens around a bonfire, beer pong table and of course a dingy beat up couch. Wow these Aggies really know how to show a girl a good time *insert heavy sarcasm here*. We jumped out of the truck and made our way over to the party. There were kegs and teens everywhere, the smell of bad decisions being made in the air was heavy and I was most likely going to be partaking in some of the same activities, at least the drinking part. Hey, I couldn't be a total Debbie Downer now could I? "Joaanie, I have your present," Nate called from behind me with a playful smirk. He tossed a bottle at me which I immediately caught, it was Fireball Whiskey my absolute favorite. Maybe, just maybe this night wouldn't be so bad after all. I gave him a smile, slipped the whiskey in my jacket and continued walking up to a group of guys where Levi was currently doing some odd dance.
"Smooth moves."
Levi looked at me and smiled, "Honey smooth doesn't even begin to describe my moves."
"Is that right?"
Before he could answer a handsome boy around our age stepped right in front of me, he was shorter than Levi's 6'3" but taller than my 5'9", broad shouldered with blonde hair and blue eyes dressed like a typical cowboy. "Hi I'm Travis, thought I'd introduce myself to a pretty lady such as yourself since Levi over here is to busy making a fool out of himself," he said playfully.
"Hi Travis, I'm Jetta."
"You're new here aren't you? I wouldn't have a remembered a pretty face like yours."
I laughed and rolled my eyes, this boy was too charming for his own good. "Okay that's enough Romeo," Levi said. "Jetta this sweet talker here is my best friend Travis Brady and to answer your question Trav yes she's new here."
"Well Jett can I get you a drink?"
"No thanks, I'm all set."
He frowned, "Don't tell me you're not drinking on your first night at The Couch."
"Oh I'm drinking, just not cheap beer I've got my own poison," I said pulling out my liquor and taking a long swig.
"A girl who can drink whiskey without a chaser and doesn't freeload...I think I'm in love, Miss Jetta marriage may be in the cards for us," Travis declared.
"Only if you make me chocolate chip pancakes on Saturdays and will watch war movies with me," I joked.
"How do you feel about professional sports?"
"Can't get me to leave my house when there's a football game and don't get me started on baseball," I answered.
"Teams?"
"Oakland A's and The Pats."
"Good Lord, it's a girl after my own heart. Jetta I think you're my soul-mate."
"Hmm not really sure how to feel about that," I said with a smirk.
"Well Beer Pong is calling my name but we'll talk later my love," Travis said and then walked away.
