Ash's PoV

What was I thinking, of course I was going to go and get Serena! I needed to tell her about my discovery. I picked up my bag and shoved a few things inside. A phone, my keys and Serena's favourite flavour yogurt.

"Bye mum!" I shouted as I dashed out the door.

"Honey! dinners,  oh well. "

I mashed the door closed and ran all the way to the bus stop, passing all of my neighbours.

"Where you going ash?" Said Jan. He's a good guy really, bit nosy though.

"Im going to see my friend, no time to stop!" I said as I carried on towards the bus.

After that I got no more interruptions, apart from tripping over someone's cat. Lousy fluff ball.
When I finally reached the bus I paid and got inside. I sat at the front so I could get out as quickly as I could. The journey was quite a long one, as Serena lived in the city, and I lived in a village. Such a different setting. I sat there in silence, watching the trees as they flew past, like a big green blanket on the side of the bus. It was so relaxing and rhythmic I fell asleep and was woken by the bus driver.

"Sorry but this is the last stop, I can't take you anywhere else." He said, looking pretty worried. It took a few seconds for me to realise I was far away from mine or Serena's house, and had no way of getting back. Let's just say I started to panic.

"Im gonna die!"

"Sir please don't think like thAt-"

"Serena will never forgive me!" I shouted, running at full speed up and down the bus.

"SIR" the bus driver shouted.

I was so surprised I stopped dead in my tracks.

"Huh?"

"I saw you were holding a piece of paper and it had a number on it so I called it, as I couldn't shake you awake. A lovely young woman called Serena picked up."

"Whaaa?" I was still so confused, so I took a minute to collect my thoughts. "What did she say?" I asked quietly.

A soft female voice came from behind me.

"She said she would love to help you back home.." said Serena.

I turned around and couldn't believe my eyes. My first instinct was to go and give her a hug but then I remembered we fell out. Before I could blink she ran up to me and gave me the biggest hug ever. Score!
We stood there for a few seconds, the silence ending when the bus driver said;

"Hate to break you guys up but I've gotta ask you to leave, the buses stopped ten minutes ago."

There was an awkward silence before Serena happily said,"No problem! Come on Ash" in a cheery voice. She was beaming and I was too, as we both headed towards her limo I asked her something that had been on my mind since she showed up.

"Serena why did you come back and help me...?" I said quietly.

"Well, I was gonna turn you down, no offense, but then I remembered something from my past. You probably don't remember but when we were 8 we went to this camp together, and we were friends there. We both had yellow pet frogs. You meant so much to me ash, and I realised you still do."

I could hardly believe it!

"That's why I was trying to get to you, to tell you how I felt, and about the camp! Guess I don't need to anymore!" I said, my face lighting up.

We both got in the limo and drove home. It was silent, but not in an awkward way, a peaceful way. The journey was the same as the bus, a blue and green blur through the windows, but this time, I did NOT fall asleep. We finally arrived at my small cottage and I gathered my stuff from the back seat.

"Bye Serena, thanks for the ride, no, scratch that, thanks for everything." I waved.

She got out too and came close to me, "Bye ash." She leant up and gave me a kiss on the cheek, and got back in the limo, as it drove off. Wow that girl, the girl with the strawberry blonde hair. I can't believe I ever doubted going to see her! I can't believe I chose that other girl over her!

Clearly I was mistaken.
