Chapter 28: I love you

"Amy!" I heard Joe said as he shook me, "Amy!" He said again

"What!" I groaned and opened my eyes, "you've been asleep for ages and I don't like driving in silence" Joe complained still looking at the road.

"Yeah well I'm tired" I said turning away from Joe and closing my eyes

"Talk to me I'm bored" he moaned tapping my shoulder to keep me awake

"What about" I said sitting up and opening my eyes so Joe would stop tapping me.

"How's things" Joe laughed

"Good; that was a great chat night" I said about to go back to sleep

"Come on were nearly there, let's listen to music shall we" Joe suggested putting on the radio

"I'll bring you flowers in the pouring rain" I sang as that song came on the radio, the song stopping

"I don't like that song" he said as he selected a new station.

"Coming out of my cage and I'll be doing just fine" me and Joe sang at the top of our voices as "mr brightside" played from the radio

"OPEN UP MY EAGER EYES!" Joe screamed before that part had even played

"Your. An. Idiot" I said laughing between each word.

"Um and your not" he said

"No may I add I'm a very clever person" I said defensively

"Oh really, what did you get in your GCSEs" he asked

"In what subject exactly" I asked

"Liar"

"I am no liar Joseph I got an a you can look at my results" I said

"I got an a* in physics, a in biology and another a* in chemistry" I said watching as Joes face turned to disbelief but he was still facing the road

"Your a liar" he said again

"I'm not I promise" I laughed tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear

"So if your so clever in school why do you have no common sense" Joe said

"Hey!" I said slapping joes arm playfully,"IM DRIVING!" He complained jokingly

"I don't care you deserved it" i spoke crossing my arms

"I'm only joking I love you really" he laughed

"You what ?" I asked hearing him say he loved me

"I said that I was joking" Joe said as I watched his face turn a shade of red

"What did you say after that" I said grinning

"I just stopped talking" Joe coughed as he changed lanes on the road

"I never said anything" he shrugged knowing what I was talking about

"You said you lo-" I sung before he cut me off

"Yes but it was a slip of the tongue" he said
