As Allen slept, she dreamt of her parents, her grandmother and everybody she who had been kind to her. She was sad for all of them. They had all given up their lives for her. Why? Why was she so important? What could have been their desperate need to save her? She could justify the actions of her parents and grandmother because they were family.

But....... what about their servants? She remembered Mary, she was her governor. When those murderers had come to her home on the night of her parent’s funeral, Mary had taken her away leaving her own son behind to save Allen’s life. Why would anyone do such a thing? Everybody loved their children, no matter what.

She had asked Mary many times “Mary why did you leave James behind?” Mary would always answer with a smile “His grand dad would have definitely saved him Allen, don’t worry about him, I am sure he is happily playing somewhere. “ Saying this she would become very quiet for the rest of the day. Allen would feel very guilty making Mary sad. Her eyes would show the sadness which never came out otherwise.  She took very good care of Allen.

Mary left Allen with her grandmother. She bent down to Allen’s height and held her hands. “Allen, I need to go find my family. You will be fine here with your grandmother. I have kept my promise to your parents by keeping you safe. Your grandmother is a very important and caring woman. She will love you, keep you safe and help you fulfil your destiny”.

Allen knew that she would miss Mary a lot. Mary had been with her since her birth. She would have to celebrate her 13th Birthday without Mary. Allen had to let go of Mary. She would be reunited with her family. It would make Mary very happy. It wasn’t right to hold her back once her promise was fulfilled.

Allen smiled and hugged Mary tightly with glistening eyes. “Mary, please be careful. I love you very much”. Mary hugged her back, cupped her face and kissed her forehead.  “Bye, Allen, I don’t know when I would be able to meet you again. I am sure you will grow up into a very beautiful woman. Take care of yourself and listen to your grandmother. She only has your best interests in mind.”

After a couple of more hugs and farewells, Mary left. Allen stood at the door holding her grandmother’s hand. They kept looking at the retreating form of Mary till they couldn’t see her anymore. Her grandmother squeezed her shoulder lightly. “Common Allen, let’s get inside, I shall show you your mother’s room. It will be your room from now on”.

Allen loved her room. It was beautiful. The wallpaper had cute bunnies wearing pink and blue bows. Her mother always loved bunnies and the favourite time of the year was Easter. She would decorate their house with beautiful hand painted cut outs of the cutest bunnies. She missed her mum very much. She wished to be in her bed at home. She wanted to hug her mum very badly. She found a handmade soft white furry bunny on the bed. It belonged to her mum. She hugged it close and cried to sleep that night.

The pain was unbearable. She woke up to look around the cave. Here she was running away from an unknown enemy. She drank some water, tended the fire burning outside the cave and got back to sleep again. She decided never to waste her time. She had a mission to accomplish. She should stop thinking about old things and must learn to live. All those who loved her didn’t give up their lives for nothing. She must make something of her life that would make her parents proud.

First and foremost she had to get out of this forest. Next she needed a place to stay that was close to humanity but still give her some privacy. Her enemies wouldn’t look for her in places which were dominated by humans. Even if they did, it would be easier to notice them then in a werewolf community where everyone is a wolf. It would be difficult to differentiate.

She needed a new identity, clothes, a job, a laptop and a phone. She couldn’t sleep anymore; her mind was whirling with new ideas and plans. The sun was beginning to rise in the horizon. She pulled out her backpack and started checking it. She found a wide assortment of things in there. Cash, some debit cards. She couldn’t believe what she saw next. There was a passport with her photograph in it with the name Allen Stanley.
