Chapter 6

Alpha Tyler POV

I walked into my office with my new Beta.

"He needs to be taken down Uncle. Father cannot get away with this anymore!" Jo yells bringing her fist down onto my desk.

"You know the law. The only way this can be fixed is if another Alpha challenges Hunter and wins." I tell her looking over some paperwork.

"WELL DO IT!" She yells at me. I look up into her eyes and raise my eyebrow before going back to looking at my paperwork.

"Sit down, calm down. Why do you think you are being trained to take over?" I tell her.

"Right.." She sits opposite me and goes quiet for a few minutes.

"What happens if he finds out about the baby before I'm Alpha?" She says quietly.

"It takes time to go through the official channels. If you aren't Alpha you will be damn close"

Hunter POV

"SHE LEFT ME? WHEN DID SHE LEAVE?" I screamed at my Beta, Terry.

"Guards tracked her off the land this morning, she left with that Marni wolf." Terry told me while obviously keeping his distance.

I flipped my desk over watching everything that was on it fly everywhere before walking up to him and holding him off the floor.

"And why did no-one stop her? SHE IS MY MATE!! And Marni, I had plans for that girl." I growl at him.

I planned to make an example of her. How dare she be mated an Alpha like Daniel. He was above the likes of her.

"You hit her Alpha, maybe that's why she left" Terry says back to me. I snap his neck. "No-one tells me how to be Alpha." I say to his body.

I walk out of my office to grab the first person I see.

I round the corner and run into a young girl. She doesn't see me and bumps into me, stupid girl.

I backhand her saying. "Stupid girl! Watch where you are going! Next time I wont be so lenient. Now tell everyone there is a pack meeting in 10 minutes. If everyone isn't there I will blame you. NOW GO! Stupid wolf." I yell at her and she scrambles away.

"Now I need to choose another fucking Beta." I growl under my breath. 

Jo POV

"How's Marni?" I ask Gabby, walking up to wrap my arms around her waist. 

"A little shaken, settling in though. I was wrong about her" She tells me turning around to wrap her arms around my neck. "I feel like a horrible person. Daniel is lucky to have such a devoted mate."She says to me grinning.

"Oh so I'm not devoted to you?" I ask back raising my eyebrow at her statement.

"Your devoted, but distracted. Understandably so and I love you for your caring nature." She says leaning in to kiss me.

"I'm going to challenge my father" I tell her, all humour now leaving the conversation.

"I know"

"I'm going to win"

"You bet your sweet ass you are. I'm not losing you" Gabby tells me with a small smile.

My phone rings breaking up our moment. "WHAT? Oh Daniel Hi! I was having a moment with my mate."

"Honestly, You are the rudest she-wolf Joselyn" Daniel laughs while I just growl.

"Marni is safe and Gabby is looking after her" I tell him before he asks.

"Terry is dead" Daniel blurts out. I look to Gabby to see if she has heard and luckily she hasn't.

"Gab, can you go check on Marni?" I ask her. She looks at me funny before nodding and walking out the door.

"Are you sure?" I ask fear seeping through my bones.

"I am as sure as I can be. Nathan is new beta" I groan at this piece of news.

"Nathan is a slime. Be careful" I tell him.

"Terry was Gabby's uncle wasn't he?" I sigh at his question, reminding my I have to tell my mate her last family is dead.

"Yeah.. Her last family. Daniel you need to leave soon, pack your pack and leave." It truly wasn't safe with Nathan as Beta.

"I'm sending my remaining pack members home. I am sending a few trustworthy your way. We will all be out by the end of the week. I'm coming there." He tells me.

"Alright I will see you then." I reply hanging up my phone.

Time to find Gabby.
