Captain Kirk smiled. I could just tell he'd been in this situation before. I closed my eyes. I knew where to go. The panel was only a couple steps away, but my feet were glued to the floor. Why did there have to be so many people here. Captain Kirk gestured me to go to my seat. Pulling away from the peering eyes, I walked over to where I would be working. "Everyone. I have some bad news. As you know, Chekhov had to be beamed to Earth four some medical care we could not offer. It it a terrible loss, but Chekhov has passed on." Kirk said. Everyone looked down. The young navigator was dead.
