Leave Before He Comes

My heart jolted. What was that behind the huge dark oak tree? For all I knew it could be an ax murderer, we were pretty far out in the ominous woods after all. Once I squint my eyes and move a little closer I realize it's a girl in a pretty, faded, old fashion dress. What was she doing here was all I thought.

"Carly, should we try to help her?" I say. Getting up from our perfect picnic spot, on our bright yellow checkered blanket.

"Well I guess it would be rude not to." reply Carly clearly insisting that she saw the creepy girl.

Leaving the babbling brook and the canopying trees, Carly and I inch closer and closer to this mysterious girl. As we go snap twigs, look at cute animals, and giggling, thinking this was all a joke. Going through the dark gnarled trees in the woods we notice the air going stone cold. Once we reach the old textile mill we are startled.

"Well, hello there." says the mysterious girl.

Both Carly and I look at her and screech. This girl was almost translucent! She was as pale as snow! She was also hovering 2-3 inches above the ground! Talk about a heart attack.

"H-h-hello" is all the words I can muster to come out of my mouth. Trembling all over, Carly's fingernails dig so deep into my arm that it's almost about to bleed.

"You can see me!" says ghost girl, jumping out of her skin as much as us.

"Yeah, and it gave us cardiac arrest" said Carly startled

"Leave now before he comes, leave!" says ghost girl frantically waving her arms causing a scene.

Both me and Carly give each other quizzical looks. First she was completely a normal ghost then she goes all crazy on us. Secondly who is this he she's talking about? Suddenly a faint whisper comes to my ears. It's so quiet that I can't make out what it's saying, but it's giving me a faint headache. It might just be apart of the woods

"You think this is a joke? I was here with my best friend having a picnic and we saw a ghost. Then I heard the whispers. We took it as a joke too and the next thing I know someone is behind me, and I'm here!" says ghost girl.

"Emma, let's run" says Carly panicking as she backs away.

"Agreed" I say as I turn around and start sprinting.

Raspy phanting is all I hear as we run like the devil is at our heels. Passing trees, bushes, and animals, we don't stop to rest. A tree root jumped out to grab my ankle and I land with a boisterous thud. Dirt caked my face as I look up to see Carly still running, not even noticing I was down.

Groggy and a little faint I get up and start to dart away. Just when I take my first step a sharp stab of pain shoots through my ankle. Before I knew I was up, I was down again. Clawing my way through the dirt, mud, and rocks, I can no longer see the silhouette of Carly.

I hear the whispers again only they are getting louder and louder every second. They are so ear piercing that I feel like my head's about to explode and my ears might bleed.

"Well, well you can hear the whispers. You were stupid to come into the woods?" says an eire male voice from behind me. I know it's the he ghost girl was talking about.

Before I can even scream I see black.

Waking up later I notice I'm in the same place. Same tall leafy oak tree, small brook, and dried up dirt. The only difference is two teenage girls are walking by. Reaching out to wave I find something horrifying. My arms are translucent! I look down and I'm hovering. Oh no ghost girl was right.

"Well, hello." I say, hoping they can't see me. High pitch shrieks immediately fill my ears after the greeting.

"W-w-what are you?" says one of the girls. This one has auburn hair with pale skin. She amber eyes the color of tree sap. The other girl next to her has dark brown hair with nice tan skin. This one has ice blue piercing eyes

As soon as the girl with auburn hair says this it reminds me of what happened before I died.

"Leave before he comes!" I say frantically, hoping they take the hint.

Both look at each other and instantly tearing away through the woods. All of a sudden I see an eerie dark shadow following the two girls. Immediately I knew it was my killer. The whispers were coming back loud and clear. I wonder which girl could hear it. All I know is one of those two girls will die tonight.
