Saying that your heart hurts
Courtney and Duncan had been through it all, they had been best friends ever since they were four. Duncan wouldn't admit it but over the time he had developed feelings for the tan beauty. Sadly, Courtney had started dating Scott a.k.a Dirty Farm boy as Duncan would put it. Their relationship was toxic, Scott constantly cheated and treated Courtney like shit. Recently Scott had gotten drunk had made out with Lindsay, but according to Scott he thought it was Courtney.
That you never get over him getting over you.
And you end up crying
And I end up lying,
'Cause I'm just a sucker for anything that you do.
So as usual Duncan was on the phone trying to comfort Courtney who had been crying for the past 30 minutes
"Am I not pretty enough? Are my boobs not big enough?" Courtney continued listing all her insecurities
"Princess, you're perfect why don't you just dump his lazy ass." Duncan muttered
And when the phone call finally ends,
You say, "Thanks for being a friend,"
And we're going in circles again and again
"Pardon, sorry could you please repeat that i couldn't hear you." Courtney asked politely
"It was nothing important." Duncan sight "I'm sure Scott will come around, don't get to worked up about it Princess. Goodnight."
"Thank you sooo much Duncan, you're an amazing friend. Sweet Dream." Courtney said before she hung up. Duncan sighed, friend that's all he's ever going to be.

Enough was enough, today was the day that Duncan, would tell Courtney how he really felt. He was tired of Scott treating her like dirt, when he could treat her like the princess she was. Walking to school, the young teen felt so nervous all the negative thoughts, were rushing through his head.
What is she doesn't like me?
What if she rejects me?
What if my stupid mistake ruins their friendship?
I bite my tongue but I wanna scream out
You could be with me now
But I end up telling you what you wanna hear,
But you're not ready and it's so frustrating
He treats you so bad and I'm so good to you it's not fair.
History had once again repeated itself, once more and this time, Duncan had had enough.
"You know what princess, stop crying about Scott if he actually was a man and actually cared about you he wouldn't be doing all these to hurt you. I know what I'm saying is quite harsh but it's the truth and I'm done with him hurting you over and over again. When you could be with a man that would treat, you like the princess you are!"
And when the phone call finally ends
You say, "I'll call you tomorrow at 10,"
And I'm stuck in the friend zone again and again,
"You're right Duncan, I'm so glad I have a friend like you. Tomorrow at school I'm going to dump his sorry ass in front of the whole school." Courtney sniffled
"Afterwards we could get go and do whatever you want princess is that okay with you." [AH5] Duncan asked
"Yes, it is." Courtney smiled though Duncan could not see is because they were on the phone.
And when the phone call finally ends
You say, "I'll call you tomorrow at 10,"
And I'm stuck in the friend zone again and again,
Courtney had finally done it, she had broken up with his sorry ass in front of the whole school. She felt as if a weight had been lifted off her shoulders. Right now, she was getting ready to go out with Duncan, she didn't know what they were going to do apparently, it was a surprise.
Ding dong
The prep raced down and opened the door to see her favorite delinquent[AH6]
"Hello princess you look good, ready to?" Courtney blushed at his compliment but still nodded
Five minutes later they had arrived at the park, Courtney's favorite place to go. First they had gotten and ice cream and now they were heading to go sit upon a hill. But not just any hill, the hill where they first met. [AH7]
"Remember this place princess." The sat under an oak tree
"Of course this is where we first met." Courtney nodded
"Look at the tree it's still there." Duncan said referring the carving that sad DXC with a heart around it.
Courtney hugged Duncan tightly "Thanks for taking me here."
"It's over yet." Duncan said mischievously, as if on cue some [AH8] fireworks went off saying
'Will you be my girlfriend Princess?'
Tears were forming in her eyes "Yes I will be."
Duncan was officially the happiest man on earth. His life was perfect, he had gotten the girl of his dreams and promised to never break her heart.
