"Make sure you stay where I can see you!" I call after Sophie as she races ahead of me to make friends with other children. I make my way to a park bench and sit down. My phone soon becomes my only priority as I search through my friends social media.
"Katie, I'm cold, did you bring my sweatshirt?" I look down to see Sophie tugging on my sleeve.
"Sure thing Soph, I've got it in my bag." After rummaging through my backpack, I pull out a small sweatshirt that has multicoloured stripes running horizontally across it. The majority of the stripes are pink which is of course why Sophie picked it out in the store. I help my younger sister squeeze it over her head and she beams up at me with her wild hair. Aww, she looks so cute with the fallen Autumn leaves as a back drop.
"Smile!" I say before taking a picture of her. Her gappy teeth beam up at me that I can't help but laugh. After she runs off again I look up to see a really cute boy making his way over to me.
"Can I sit here?" He says smiling at me. I feel my checks blush as I say,"of course."
"Was that your sister?" He asks and I've already fallen in love with his accent.
I nod and then pause, "are you British?" I ask and he laughs. I like watching him as he laughs, his dark hair that's jelled up in a spiked sort of way bounces lightly on top of his head.
"That obvious?" He chuckles "yeh I'm staying with some distant relatives for two weeks while I'm here for a holiday."
I just smile at him. "Oh! By the way I'm Katie."
"Chase."' He says smiling still.
His eyes are dark and warm and his teeth are pearly white.
"Hey, isn't that your sister?" Chase says frowning.
"Where?" I follow is gaze and see a black jeep parked by the fence of the park and a man, grabbing a little girl and swinging her over his shoulder, as he turns to the back seat of the car I can see a pink, striped sweatshirt being pushed into the backseat. I lock eyes with her and see that it's Sophie. Suddenly the realisation hits me.
"Wait what?! Ohmygod no! Please you've got to help me find her!"
I'm a mess, panic surging through me as I try to pick out Sophie's pink sweatshirt in the crowd of children. I can't see her anywhere. It was defiantly her in the jeep. She's gone. She's gone. Ive broken the promise to my mom and I've lost my sister._____________________________________
