Chapter 4

Shit. The aspect of "school" had never crossed my mind. I stood dumbfounded staring up at the gates. Why does education have to act all depressing? I breathed a heavy sigh as I walked into the building. I had a note in my hand that Helena had given me. It said I should report to the office. I wandered through the halls absentmindedly. I knew this was gunna be hard and I felt so lost without Nat by my side. What if I don't make any friends?
I found the door that read "reception" and gave three sharp knocks on the door.
A voice becomes me inside and told me to take a seat. A large man with a red face and no neck started at be through thick glasses.
"Brilliant," he said giving emphasis on the r before carrying on, "Katie Moore, welcome to our school. I have given two girls in your year your name and they will make sure you are looked after in our community. They're lovely girls."
I nodded, hoping that they liked me.
Soon the door opened and two girls stood in the doorway,
"Hi sir," said the shorter one. She had strawberry blonde hair and blue eyes. She was quite pretty in an average way.
"Ah! Here they are! Olivia Clear and Bella Violet, they will take care of you. Girls, this is Katie Moore."
"Hiya," I said meekly.
"Right, girls I have excused you from biology so you can spend the rest of the less showing Katie around."
They nodded and step aside for me to walk out the doorway. "Ah Katie, we have lots of support children like you, given the circumstances."
He gave a fake sympathetic expression which I wanted to punch.
"Right so.." said the girl called Bella. She was also pretty with glasses and long brown hair. I stayed quiet.
"This sucks..let's do something fun," Olivia said and I immediately knew I'd get along with both of them just fine.
We went to walk aimlessly around corridors when I saw Finn. He looked at me and I waved.
"Hey there hot stuff," I didn't need to check to know I was blushing a deep crimson.
"Uh, do you two know each other?" Bella asked.
"Well.." Finn laughed.
"We kinda live together," I explained and then cracked up because to on lookers it must look funny. I hadn't even had a full day at school yet I had already moved in with on of the schools hunks.
"Please explain," Olivia laughed.
"I'm staying with my aunt who adopted Finn." I tried to explain our complicated backstories.
"Well, I'll see you later." Finn said giving me a wink.
Bella and Olivia looked at each other, "you do know that Finn Mason is the biggest Fuckboy ever."
"So what," I laughed. "He's hot as fuck."
I knew already that these two nerds were gunna become my best friends. Of course they were no replacement for Nat but I could already see all the fun stuff we will get up to.
"Do any of you have boyfriends?"
They both looked at each other and said "it's complicated" in unison.
Bella explained how one day after school, they had both snuck into the art block and stole a pair of yeezys from textiles. They later discovered that Hayes Ashman owned them, and from what I gathered, there were three boys who were best friends that ruled the school. They were popular and all the girls swooned over them. There was Hayes Ashman, Chase Carter and of course Finn Mason.
