The next morning, I woke up, showered, brushed my teeth, and pulled on some black skinny jeans, and a white t-shirt with the words, "THE WAR IS OVER!.....IF YOU WANT" plastered in bold, black letters across the front. I shoved my feet into my tall black boots and slipped on my leather jacket that had been around since John Lennon himself was alive.

I walked down stairs, kissed my mother, grabbed my keys and walked out to my '65 robin egg blue VW Beetle. I know. I would be driving a Beetle, right?

I got in, put my navy lens-ed Lennon's on, turned on the heat, and began my drive to school. There was ice all over the roads, but we NEVER get out for a snow day. It's ridiculous.

I had a small stereo mounted to the dashboard in front of the passenger seat. I didn't want to remove any part of my car, but I also wanted to listen to my CD's, so that was my choice.

A Day in the Life was playing. I listened to it every morning on my way to school. It's just such a mellow song (for the most part).

I read the news today oh boy

About a lucky man who made the grade

And though the news was rather sad

Well I just had to laugh

I saw the photograph

Singing along as I do, a car pulled out in front of me. I slammed on my brakes just in time.

The car sped off, and I gave mine some gas, proceeding forward when a large truck flew out of the intersection smashing into the passenger side of my Beetle. The car flipped into the air and smashed into a pole. Before I blacked out, all I heard was:

He blew his mind out in a car

He didn't notice that the lights had changed

A crowd of people stood and stared

They'd seen his face before
