Rumors (JaDine AU)

AN: This is an AU wherein Nadine and James are not a love team but are celebrities (and the rest are not). They are about 18-19yo here.

"Ang cute mo~" Nadine softly said as she dropped more of her fish crackers to the ground.

She was giving them to the black stray cat.

She smiled as the cat ate.

Nadine was in front of their house but no one was inside at the moment. Both her parents were still at work.

It was getting late, and the sky was getting darker.

She tried petting the cat.

The cat let her.

She smiled. "Ang sweet mo pa..."

Nadine then started hearing laughters. She looked up at the streets.

"James..."

James was with school friends, it seems. They weren't their friends from the neighborhood. Five boys, including James and two girls who looked like they were annoyed. Seems the boys were teasing them.

Suddenly, James glanced at her direction and their eyes met.

He smiled at her and waved. "Naddie!"

Nadine had known James since they were kids. They were practically neighbors, their houses separated by two streets.

They had played with each other when they were little, along with all the kids in the neighborhood.

They hadn't talked much during those times, but then came the time when they both started working in the entertainment world.

That time, Nadine felt as if she was left out. She felt she was missing so many things. All her childhood friends were having fun in school, going shopping any time they want, having slumber parties, attending group dates and stuff.

Some may say that she was the one who had overtaken her friends. She was an idol, after all. But, it was like time stopped for her. She never had those things. (She was a little envious of James, even, cause he still went to college while she just took a course online.)

But that was the reason they started to become close. They understood each other since they were the same. They started talking and becoming friends. Now, whenever Nadine felt tired about work, the first person she'll ran to would be James. And that was the same for him.

The others all looked at her as well.

Nadine hesitantly waved back. It was a bit embarrasing with all of them looking at her. She might be a celebrity, but she still gets shy most of the time.

James started making his way towards her. Nadine's eyes widen a bit, a little surprised.

James' friends followed him.

Nadine waited till they were in front of her house.

"Naddie, you wanna come with us?" James asked.

"Huh?"

"We're going to SGU." He said, grinning. SGU is their school.

"Right now?" Nadine asked, bewildered.

"Yeah. We're gonna go ghost hunting!" James said excitedly.

"Huh? Ayoko sumama." Nadine said at once.

James pouted at her. "Come on, Naddie. It'll be fun!" He said.

"James, you know I hate ghosts!" She said.
