Flames

Three

The girl ran down the alleyway, not sure where she was running too. She heard both boys still fighting, hearing grunts from them. She ran, ran as fast as she could, afraid of what might happen to her if she stopped. Finally, she lost her breath, she leaned on a wall and caught her breath. She jogged to the back of a trash bin and kneeled down there just in case if someone walked by making them not see her. She then let her thoughts go through her mind, she wiped some sweat off her forehead. How did Nick know I was in the alleyway? I was pretty far from the school, unless he followed me... No! That can't be! I checked everywhere to make sure no on was following me! The girl moved a few strands of her hair away from her face. She needed to go to a meeting but she was running really late, you could say she didn't want anyone to know about the meeting. Since she was late, she decided to go through the alleyway as a shortcut, but it ended up badly.

As the girl was lost in her though, she was brought back to reality by a mind breaking scream. It was the scream of the other man, it was too low for Nick's voice. Then, a sudden sound filled the night sky, it was the sound of a gunshot. Oh shit.... the girl though, a chill went down her spine making her shiver.  I know this is stupid but I need to go back and see what happened! She yelled at herself in her head, she then got up and ran to where Nick and the man were fighting before. 

   As she slowed down, she heard pants from someone.  Another shiver went down her spine, the air felt colder and it smelled like something was burnt. What is happening? She though.  She went over to some boxes and peaked up, trying to not get anyone's attention, she saw a body on the floor, maybe Nick's body, couldn't make out who's it was, but the other sight she saw looked like a nightmare had came to life.  She saw a creature hovering above the man on he floor. The mans body was lifeless, it wouldn't move.  The creature looked like it had wings, big ones.  The creatures eyes looked like they glowed, maybe its eyes can show the fiery pits of hell.  The girl could not move. She was in a trance, she couldn't stop starting at the creature, that's when she dropped a crate.  The loud crash of the crate brought the attention of the creature, now, it and the girl were staring at each other. 

   What is it? The girl though, a shocked look on her face. The creature moved towards the girl, she heard the deep breaths of it, as the creature got closer, she made out a males body.  Maybe it was the smell of burnt messing with her mind, but she was positive she saw a males body.  The guy stood, wings extended out, those red glowing eyes staring at her own green and grey ones. She made out the man clutching Its shoulder, something was oozing out, maybe blood.  The thing got closer making the girl move back a little.  The creature must of seen her and stopped moving, he backed away.  "Who are you.." the girl said without thinking.  No words were spoken. 

   Out of the blue, sirens were heard filling the alleyway.  The creature reacted and shook its head.  She gave one last stare at the girl until he ran past her, deeper into the dark alley, getting out of the girls sight.  What the gel was that thing!!! she thought.  She then remembered about Nick.  She ran back towards the body laying on the ground, as she kneeled down, she noticed it wasn't Nick at all. It was the man who had attacked her.  He had cuts everywhere! Cuts, bruises, gashes, even a few burn marks!

   The girl moved back, gagging at the horrible condition the man was, he was probably dead by now. The girl ran out of the alleyway, going to the end of the alley trying to catch the attention of anyone nearby.  Cop cars already filled the entire entrance of the alley.  A few police men took the girl safely to the hospital for a check up. After that, she was told to say what had happens in the alleyway. The main question the remainder in her mind was where was Nick?

   After a few weeks of being questioned of the incident, she started going to school again.  It had been hat for her to go without throwing up of remembering the sight of how mangled the man was.  She told the police everything, of course they didn't believe her. One thing she didn't tell the police was the name of Nicks, she didn't want to give out his name, she didn't know why hut she didn't want to.
The first three days of school for the girl was not the pleasant, people would call her crazy of the story she supposedly made up, thy would call her insane or a freak.  She didn't care what everyone thought of her, the only thing she cares about was where in the world was Nick and what was the creature. 

   It was lunch time, the time where the girl could think to herself, maybe also talk to herself if she wanted to.   She went down the lunch line, she heard a few snickers from a few other students. She shrugged it off and went outside to eat.  She sat on the fresh green grass and got her food and a book out her backpack.  As she started eating, she heard the annoying voice of the SO ever most beautiful girl in school, Jazmine, also known as the school bully.

   "Oh lookie here! We got ourselves our favorite little nerd to pick on!" Jazmine said, her two friend by her side, laughing.  "Can you and your diva squad leave me alone.." the girl said with an annoyed tone.  Jazmine snapped and grabbed the book the girl was holding and threw it across from where the girl sat.  "You shall not speak to me in that tone you freak! Why are you even in this school! Only sane people come here, not insane freaks like you who make up stories of monsters!" Jazmine said laughing, her friends laughing besides her.  Maybe she's right, maybe I am going insane... the girl thought.  "Face it Belle! You are a freak!! And you shouldn't be here!!" Jazmine shouted at the girl.  Jazmine reached out to grab Belle by the shirt until someone grabbed Jazmine's arm.  "I wouldn't do that if I were you" it was a familiar voice.... it was very familiar. Nick?! Belle thought.
