"Mabry. Mabry. Mabry!" Taylor yelled more insistently. She shook me roughly and my eyes slowly roamed over to hers.

"It's done. What's wrong with her?" I heard Jay ask.

"I-I don't know." Taylor said, stepping away from me and walking in front of the jeep.

"Hey May." Jay called, his hands cupping my cheeks and pulling my face to meet his. "You're alright. Everything's gonna be alright." Tears began to well in my eyes and a few slipped free. Sympathy washed over Jays features and he pulled me into a gentle hug. After a few moments I pulled away and sat back in my seat. He took the hint and got into the back seat of the jeep.

I knew I shouldn't be as upset over this as I was, but life was a delicate thing.

The jeeps engine started and we began moving.

"The man didn't die."Taylor offered. I didn't reply and just sat staring out of the window, watching the grass fly by.

I waited a few more moments, and then decided to talk.

"Why did you have to hurt her? You could have just done the same thing to her as you did to that guy." I said, my voice barely above a whisper.

"I don't think you understand." Taylor said gently.

"What is there not to understand? Why can't you just tell me what the hell is going on?" I asked, growing more hysterical with each passing second.

"Please Mabry, try to understand. What is going on here is bigger than you think. Soon we'll be in Florida and they will explain it all to you." Jay said with a tone if finality.

I couldn't do this. Whatever was going on, others knew about it. People were trying to hurt my friends.

"Why are these people coming after us?" I asked, slightly calmer.

"We can't tell you that." Taylor said.

"Who are they coming after?" I rephrased. Jay and Taylor shared a look before Jay spoke. My heart jumped at his reply.

"You."

I sat there for a moment, shocked at his response. Of course it was kind of obvious that they were after me, since I was  the only one they seemed to be looking for. But why me? My family didn't have money like Taylor's family. I wasn't skilled in much of anything. I was ordinary. Useless. If they were after Taylor or Jay it would make a little more sense at least. Well Taylor anyway. Jay hadn't done anything extraordinary except seem to know what he was doing at all times.

"Look Mabry, we aren't going to be making any more pointless or frequent stops. We just need to get you to Florida so they can explain everything to you okay? We don't need anymore hiccups on this trip." Taylor finished.

"Who are 'they'?" I asked, getting slightly annoyed by the ominous pronoun. They shared another glance and ignored me. I huffed before crossing my arms over my chest.

"I spy with my little eye something... Green."

"Oh my god!" Jay shouted. My lips turned up slightly at him.

"What if they find out who did it?" I asked, staring at the ceiling.

"They won't, I had Jay erase the security tapes."
