Lucy had to miss a few days of school because of her injury. Today, was Friday. And it was her last day at the hospital. She spend her weekdays here while she got some visits from her friends.
The most frequent visits were from her two best friends. Even though they just met, she felt like she'd known them since forever. They bonded so quickly.
Nat had been filling in Lucy about school, while Natsu entertained her with silly things. Levy was helping Lucy get out of the hospital.
She picked up her things and drove her back home. She bid Lucy goodbye and returned to school.
Lucy entered her house and inhaled the scent. She exhaled and layed on the couch. She then remembered why she was in the hospital and in an instant felt sad. She stoop up and silently walked towards the music room.
She sat on the stool of her black gran piano. In perfect condition since she last played it. She always felt calmer when she played this important instrument.
(Play media)
She fluently played a piece that her mother had taught her how to play when she was smaller.
Her fingers gracefully danced across the keys, hitting each note perfectly in sync. No errors. No rush. Just a beautiful melody playing throughout her house.
Lucy smiled as she cried. This brought back good and bad memories. Her eyes leaked as she played the short song. She hummed with the melody. She swayed her head side to side.
When the notes increased in speed, so did her tears. She nodded her head when the notes were accelerating. When they decreased she continued to bob her head up and down ever so slightly.
She was so focused on playing she hadn't known two certain someone's had entered and watched her play.
The piece was so beautiful it caused both boys to cry. It was like you could feel the sadness flowing through the song as it flew and spun in your ears.
When she finished playing, she sniffled and looked at the black and white piano keys.
"Play again please..." She didn't seemed surprised for she knew who they were. She smiled and played the melody once more.
The boys walked over to Lucy as she played her mother's song. When she began crying again, they both hugged her as she played. When she finished once more, she started laughing quietly.
"Thanks guys, I needed that. Ha...I just feel sad for no reason sorry if I worried you..ha." She quietly whispered. She smiled while still shedding tears. The boys looked at her with teary eyes. They gave her a sad smile and hugged her tighter.
"It's ok...let it out..." Natsu whispered in her right ear.
"We'll be here for you..." Nat whispered in her left. Lucy bit her lip until she finally broke. Her sobs and sniffles filled the house. Her crying wails were heard by the two boys. She hugged them tightly as her tears came pouring out.
Her sadness caused the boys sadness. Their hearts broke seeing her cry. They cried with her as she let out all her bottled up feelings.
After a couple of minutes of crying, Lucy finally calmed down. Her sobs became sniffles and whimpers. The boys had teary eyes. The looked her in the eyes. "Feel better?" She nodded.
She hugged them tightly. They hugged back. "Thanks guys..." "No problem." Lucy gave out a small laugh. "Hey look Natsu, Nat didn't stutter this time..."
Natsu and Lucy laughed as Nat turned crimson. After the laughter died down, the twins got serious. Lucy knew what was coming. And she hated it.
"What's wrong?"

"O-oh it's nothing to w-worry about." She tried waving it off like last time but they all knew better."Lucy." Natsu warned. She sighed. "That song was a song my mother used to play. She'd play it for me and I would always observe how her fingers graciously danced on the keys. I learned the song by heart and memory."
"But why did you put so much sadness in it?" Nat quietly asked. It turns out when he's serious he losses his stuttering.
"Because my mother is dead and I miss her." She said bluntly. Both boys knew she was just trying to cover up her sad voice. They nodded for her sake.
They don't want to push her so much. "Anyways!!!" Lucy's mood changed from sad to happy in an instant which surprised the two boys, "we need to do homework because someone hasn't been doing it along with me!!!" Natsu groaned.
"Come on!!!" She smiled brightly as dragged the boys up to her room. How could she be so happy after all that? Then again it's another cover up. She hides behind a mask.
Lucy sat the boys down on her bed and she walked towards the door. "Now you guys stay here, while I get out things!!!" She gave a thumbs up and closed the door.
The boys looked at each other. "I can't believe we've been so blind." Natsu said seriously. "Yeah. I can't believe how good she is at hiding her emotions. I wonder what happened to her mother?" Nat said.
"Well she'll tell us when she's ready. It was probably hard for her to tell us her mother died. Imagine how much harder it would be about her personal life?" Natsu said shrugging. "Yeah."
"Hey Nat?" "Yes?" Natsu smiled. "Congratulations on fixing your stuttering problem!!!!" Nat blushed.
"W-w-what!!!" "A-and he's at it a-again folks!!!" Natsu teased. Nat pouted. He lightly punched Natsu's shoulder. Natsu snickered and caught a gleam of light. There it is again, but only...it's glowing brighter.
Nat also noticed as they each inched towards the drawer. Natsu shakily inched his hand for the handle. He was just centimeters away when the doors, once again like last time burst open to reveal a panting Lucy carrying all sort of bags. They just stared at her while Lucy had an annoyed expression. "Well are you just going to stand there or help me?" The boys snapped out of it and helped her with her things.

The rest of the day, they just did their homework with a whining Natsu and a worried Nat. He wanted to know the reason why her eyes held so much sadness.
