Skullduggery Pleasant- Days of Death

Hey!! So this is my first book on wattpad so..Whipee! You don't have to have read the Skulduggery Pleasant series to read this but it would help.  This fan-fic takes after the 5th book by the way which is mortal coil because Fletcher and Val break up in the 6th and i wanted them to stay togeth in my book so all the stuff that happens after the 5th book like in the 7th and 8th book, i ignored. at the end of the 5th book alice is a baby and steph is 16 so this story is in the future.

Alice POV

"Alice" Mum called up the stairs "Hurry up, Steph's waiting!"

Today is my 16th birthday and I'm really excited as my sister, Steph is taking me to a club with her husband Fletcher for the first time. I'd spent hours choosing what to wear and I was just adding the finishing touches, "Just a sec" I called back. I put one last coat of mascara on my already mascara coated eyelashes, checked my hair, grabbed my purse and hurries down the stairs.

Steph was standing at the door, an imaptient look on her face. Stephanie is 32 now but she loooks about 20, its amazing. She was looking beautiful in a stunning deep purple dress that stopped about mid-thigh and hugged her in all the right places with some simple black pumps, she'd never been one for heels. I swear Steph still acts like a 20 year old, wearing slutty dresses, going out clubbing and stuff. I on the other hand went for a completly different approch with short  denim shorts with a white trim, a really nice tight fitting top that stopped just above my belly button and some heels with ribbons to tie them on. I'd left my hair to flow naturaly down my back and dusted some light eyeshadow on to bring out my unusual emerald eyes.

"Right, Alice here's £40, don't get too drunk, don'y do anything stupid and all that rubbish, Steph, you're in cha..." Mum stopped short when she laid eyes on me, her eyes darkened and she shouted "Alice Edgely, get back up thoses stairs this instant and put some clothes on!" I sighed and went to trudge back up the stairs when Steph grabbed my wrist, "Mum, don't be such an oldie, you look lush Alice" Steph gushed. I smiled, I loved my sister. She pulled me out the back door and round the corner to her old Volvo C70 shining in all its silver glory under the dim streetlights of our road in Dublin, Ireland.

I was just aboud to open the passenger side door when Steph said "ah, ah, ah, Fletchers coming, you go in the back" As she slid into the drivers seat. The night was warm so she had the roof down and could still hear me, "What the hell!?! Fletchers getting in second so he should go in the back!" After a mini argument, which I lost, we arrived at Stephs and Fletchers house 5 minuites late and he was stood outside his door looking cross. Steph leant over and slung the door open and he strode up and gracefully hopped in.

Fletcher was hot. There was no dennying it, he, just like steph looked way younger than he actualy is, he is 36 but looks about 22. Fletchers hair is like another person though, it's huge, but suits him.

"Hey handsome" Steph said, "Hey sexy" He replied, they were always so flirty, but then you would look over and they would be lost in each others eyes and you could tell they were in love.

"How can I be sexy when I look like a whale?" Steph complained. Oh year, Stephs 6 months pregnant, forgot to mention that. Mum was hysterical when she found out, I thought she was going to scream the house down, then insisted to drag poor Steph round countless baby shops no matter how much Steph complained. "Someone has got to get you ready for this baby Steph" Mum had said "And I know thats not going to be Fletcher." Mum didn't think much to Fletcher.

We arrived at the club 10 minutes later and lucky for us there was a very short que, we made our way in and my mouth dropped open, so many bodys dancing, so many lights, wow. Steph laughed "Come on Alice, stop cleaning the floor with your tounge, you don't know whats been there." We battled our way to the bar and Steph ordered drinks which the barman happily obliged not even bothering to check my age. "What is it?" I asked Steph suspiciously when a electric blue drink was put into my hand. "Try it and see" She giggled mischivously. I brought the glass up to my nose and smelt it, Citrus and..and..chocolate? ok, thats wierd. Seeing the expectant look on their faces I put the glass to my lips, took a long swig and nearly spat the whole thing out on them. It was vile!!! It burned all the way down my throught when i forced myself to swallow it and tears welled in my eyes as I despartly tried not to choke. Fletch and Steph were nearly falling on the floor laughing as I stood there coughing and glaring at them.

2 hours and 5 drinks later, I was wasted, having never drunk large quanties before I didn't last very long. Fletch and Steph had gone off to dance and left me at the bar trying to regain my grip of reality. I was watching Steph swining her hips to the beat when a cold hand landed on my shoulder. I gasped and spun round in alarm, nearly falling in my drunken state but the arms belonging to the hand steadied me. I looked at the man and saw that he was very pale and middle aged and huge flashing lights in my head spelled out "PEDO!!!!!!!!"  "Well hello there, you must be Alice" The pedo said quitley, I stared at him with terrified eyes, how on earth did he know my name!! "Don't be scared little Alice, I'm your sister Valkyrie's friend" The pedo said, Valkyrie, who's Valkyrie? "I-I don't kno-know anyone ca-called Valkyrie, sir, sorry, I th-think you got thr wro-wrong girl." I stuttered. I raked my eyes desparatly over the crowd to find Steph and saw a commotion on the right hand side of the dance floor, Steph was running over with Fletch hot on her heels and all the people that should have been in her was were mysteiously thrown to the side complaining loudly by some invisiable force. The pedo glanced up, saw Steph striding over and smiled "Valkyrie" Nefarine Serpine smiled "Long time no see-Eh?"

if you havent read the books heres and insight-

Basic plot of the books- Skulduggery Pleasant- the skelaton dectective goes around ireland stopping evil sorcerers killing the world- with Valkyrie (Steph)  his side-kick. mortals do not know about magic, sorceres age slower than mortals- stephs bloodlines connect back to the first sorcerers known as the ancients so she is a sorcerer- skullduggery taught her magic.  they have friends like tanith and ghastly (will explain them when they come inot the story) bad things happen to val- she nearlly dies a lot, gets injured a lot and gets into lots of fights with evil sorcers. theres lots of brutal deaths of bad guys and a couple of good guys.

Stephanie edgely- sorcerer-elemental magic (fire, air, earth and water)- can do things like blast people with air to knck them back, throw fire balls, stop them selves getting wet in rain etc. + necromancer-uses darkness and death to control shadows- can stab people, pin them to walls etc. it is rare to be more than 1 type of magic but she is.  Skulduggery Pleasants side-kick, goes aroung kicking bad guys butts, saving the world etc.

Valkyrie Cain- Stephs taken name- you have three names, your given name-Staphanie, Your taken name- Valkyrie Cain, and a true name- Vals is  Darquesse. all her sorcerer friends call her Valkyrie or Val.

Fletcher Renn- Magic- Teleporter- can teleport anywhere as long as he has been there before, can take people with him. with valkyrie in my story.

Skulduggery Pleasant- Valkyries sort of hero- elemental sorcerer- he is a skeleton detective- yes a living skelaton but he has a facade tattoo that puts skin over him if he wants. died and just woke up as a skelaton, doesnt know how it happened. very very old. but is a skelaton so you cant tell

Nefarine Serpine- Very evil sorcerer who in the first book tried to bring back the faceless ones and kill most of the worls- val and skulduggery killed him but hes in my book, dun dun dun!!

China Sorrows- very old sorcerer- magic tattoos- carved into her skin, touches them in different combinations = different spells. own a library with thousand of ancient and unique books, often helps Val and Skulduggery out of a few sticky situations.

Alice Edgely- Valkyries little sister, doeant know bout magic yet.

hope this hepls- i havent mentioned skullduggery or china in this chapter but they will come up later- i wil explain more characters as this story progresses. at the end of the 5th book alice is a baby and steph is 16 so this story is in the future.
