Chapter 18

Jade's POV:

I was standing at the counter with my mouth dropped to my toes. I couldn't form any kind of words. Perrie sounded fine when she spoke to me on the phone. A lot could have happened in the space of 20 minutes though. Who knows if someone may have accidentally hit a pipe.

"Take a seat Miss. The police car will be here shortly" I nodded. My feet slowly took me to the chair. I was walking like a zombie. My head hung low as tears trickled down my cheeks. My bum found the seat and my hands covered my face as I cried hysterically in the police station.

"What's the emergency?" a male voice said. I looked up to find two police officers standing in front of the desk.

"There's a girl who has been taken. We know where she is because she managed to call her girlfriend and tell her the directions" she said and the two men nodded.

"Well where is her location?" the man asked.

"The old warehouse where the major gas leak was" she said. The two men turned to me while walking over.

"I'm guessing you're the girlfriend" a man said while crouching down to me. He was now looking me in the eye. I managed a small nod.

"What's your name?" he asked.

"J-Jade T-Thirlwall" I managed to get out between sobs.

"And what's the name of your girlfriend?" he asked.

"P-Perrie E-Edwards" I said back.

"Alright thank you Miss Thirlwall. The ambulance will be here any second and when they come we will be able to get going. Are you going to come with us?" he asked me.

"Yes please" I said back. He stood up and I stood up after him. He thanked the lady at the desk before walking out the door. As soon as we reached the car the ambulance pulled up behind us.

"You just get in the back while I talk to the ambulance" he said while opening my door.

"Thank you" I said. He smiled at me and I quietly hopped in the back of the police car. I felt like I was in trouble. It made me giggle. The second man that was with us hopped in the passenger side while he wrote something down.

"It's ok Ms Thirlwall. Ms Edwards will be with you in no time" he said smiling at me. The thought of having Perrie in my eye sight made me smile. To be able to smell her beautiful flowery purfume. To hold her in my arms and never let her go. To plant kisses to her amazing lips and everywhere else. The drivers side door opened snapping me out of my thoughts.

"We decided not to turn on any sirens. We don't want them to hear it and run away" he said while turning on the car.

"Good idea" the other officer said. The car started moving forward as we drove further away from the police station and closer to get my girlfriend.

"Almost there" the officer said to me. I hadn't noticed that I was drifting off to sleep when my eyes suddenly shot open from his voice.

"I know who took her" I said quietly.

"Pardon" he asked.

"I know who took Perrie" I said a bit louder.

"Who?" he said.

"It was my ex boyfriend. His name is Sam Craske" I said as I felt hot tears fall down my cheeks.

"John pull up the name" he said talking to the man in the passenger seat. John didn't mess around. He typed his name into the tiny computer.

"Ahh yes. I thought the name rang a bell. He's the naughty teen" he said. I sat there stunned as I leaned forward and read what was on the screen.

'Stolen Car'

'Robbed shop'

'Attempted murder'

'Murder of Jill Furn'

My mouth dropped open as I read the last one. SAM HAS MURDERED SOMEONE. He has never told me any of this. I couldn't believe it. What could he have done to me. What could he do to Perrie. I felt all the blood drain from my face. My hands started shaking. It felt like the car wasn't moving fast enough towards Perrie. I started to feel claustrophobic as my breathing started to increase.

"We are here" he said while stopping the car and getting out silently. I climbed out and listened to everything. It sounded like someone was talking. Then I heard it. Perrie was singing. I felt my knees go weak as I fell to the ground silently crying.
