Part Fifteen- Little Mary Kay
----------------
As it turned out, when John had said they were going to get together with Ringo and George, he didn't mean for recording. As it turns out, the three of them had been the ones to throw together money for the flight. Paul insisted that he would pay his own airfare, but John shook his head.
"I've got it sweetheart," John had whispered.
Now, the four sat in a neat row in an airport. Thankfully, it was very early in the morning (3am) and no screaming girls would be chasing them around. The only people wandering around were either men on business trips, or families with one or two small children.
Paul gazed around the room, wondering what he might be able to do until the flight at four. John on the other hand was completely passed out, his head resting peacefully on Paul's shoulder. George had already made at least three trips to buy cheap donuts. Lastly, Ringo looked around, his blue eyes looked at all the people in the airport, which wasn't much.
While Ringo stared off, George noticed a small family sitting in front of them. Recently, George had been wanting to settle down and have a family of his own. The small blonde girl between her slumbering parents sensed someone watching her. She turned back, her hair flipping around. Large hazel eyes locked with George's and a huge smile lit her face. She leapt up from her chair without waking her parents, and bounded over to him.
"George? Is it really you?" Her voice had an American accent. Huge eyes lit up as he nodded to her. Noticing this, Paul began to nudge John awake, immediately trying to make him stay quiet. When Johns tired eyes saw the young girl staring up at George, he could only feel himself smile. He knew that George wanted a child.
"Not only me!" George said, gesturing to his now wide awake friends.
At this, the girl turned, her white dress swishing with every movement. She then set her eyes back onto George. She stood on her toes to whisper in his ear, and he leaned down to listen.
"You're my favorite. I love you," She whispered. George couldn't help but to lean down and pull her onto his lap, hugging her tight.
No one recently had made George happier than this six year old girl.
At the same moment as she whispered to George, John turned to Paul and whispered to him,
"She's got your eyes." John placed his hand on Paul's knee. Paul leaned forward to look at the girl. She turned and saw Paul, sharing a few more words with George before scampering toward them.
"Hi Paul, hi John," she said, smiling up at them.
"Hello! What's your name?" John asked, sliding out of his chair and onto his knees so they'd be eye level.
"I'm Mary Kay, but you can call me Mary," she replied simply.
John and Mary had a long conversation together, where eventually George, Paul, and Ringo ended up joining. Everyone sat on the floor together. The boys found Mary just as interesting as she found them. Even better was that, she was going to New York, too. That's where she lived.
"It's nearly four... shouldn't you get back to your parents before the flight?" Paul asked timidly, glancing toward her parents.
"I probably should." Mary stood and waved to them with a large sigh. "See you on the flight"
She was nearly back to her parents when she turned back and called, "They're not my real parents! I'm going to an orphanage in New York. My new home." And she trudged slowly back to the adults she came with.
Ringo and George glanced at each other, and Paul and John shared a look. John gave Paul a look like his entire heart just melted. Paul looked very sad, and shocked.
"If we're ever looking for a kid... She's the one." John whispered to Paul, secretively twirling his fingers in Paul's hair. Paul replied,
"Yeah. That little Mary Kay will be ours."
