The two free days a week that Wendy had as a university students, namely Saturday and Sunday, turned into busy ones filled with unpacking, cleaning and organizing. Her new home still felt empty even though all of her possessions were already placed somewhere in the room. Wendy wasn't quite sure if this was they way she wanted to keep it. She wasn't allowed to to paint any of the apartment's walls and therefore, to Wendy's distress, they stayed white. It wasn't that white was an awful color, it wasn't even a color after all, but it seemed impersonal. The moving company had moved every piece of furniture on Saturday morning. But being the indecisive young girl she was, Wendy had switched the positions of everything she owned later in the evening. Now, Monday morning, the sofa was the first thing to see after coming into Wendy's home. Behind it an old, brown, secondhand cabinet hid Wendy's sleeping mat, blanket and pillow. The. kitchen, also completely in white, was the main part of the apartment the student spent time in.
Wendy snatched her keys from the kitchen counter and picked up her old and overly used grey bag. Sooyoung had always called it tacky until she had realized that it doddnt matter to her friend. The thought of her best friend made Wendy's heart ache. She hadn't answered any calls nor texts from her. She felt guilty but after her friend's confession it just was wrong to pretend as if nothing had happened when their relationship could change forever. Wendy double checked every item in her bag. Phone, books, her sacred laptop and two access card. One hers. The other one was Kang Seulgi's. It was like a habit or a complex as she always kept the two cards in her bag ever since Seulgi's had appeared. Wendy couldn't decide if what she was doing was healthy or if it was harmful to her mental state. Carrying another person's key card around couldn't end well if a colleague saw it.* * *
After she left her apartment it didn't take long to arrive at the university. Her landlord, Mr Kim, had been right. A mixed feeling took over Wendy and it felt like her ovaries were riding on a roller coster and the loop was coming up. She dreaded going to this class but she was excited at the same time. The girl wondered if Sooyoung would be there too. Her thoughts wandered from her friend to the email send to her by someone, someone unknown. Wendy had tried to track down the sender but there was nothing she could do as the person hadn't left a single trace behind. No IP address, no email address, nothing. Even though she was quite good with computers this was a little too much for her capabilities. She would need some help. The second that Wendy walked through the door into the building a strickt and motherly sounding voice that usually had a sweet tone to it but not today, greeted her. "Where were you?" The voice was raised and more people's attention was caught because of it. "I called you like three thousand times and you didn't even feel the need to call back?! What happened? Did I do something wrong?" Wendy stayed silent with her mouth tightly shut. The voice was softer this time around. "Talk to me, would you?" Sooyoung sounded desperate. Wendy saw tears dwelling in her friend's eyes. Through the windows the shining and warm sun reflected those. She raised her hand to get Sooyoung's hands off her shoulders. The despair that Sooyoung's eyes showed turned into pure anxiety. It wasn't something Wendy could cope with. Her heart never had felt as heavy as it did now. She needed her friend and couldn't afford to lose her. The decision was made not by the thoughts and emotions that were going through Wendy's mind, but the long friendship and bond between the two that they had developed through the years. They were like two ships sailing in the stormy ocean that hid it's temptations and it's danger behind beautiful islands. If one of their ships threatened to sink, the other would rescue the people and treat them as their own until they were able to survive on themselves. Wendy kept Sooyoung's hand in hers and pressed it. "Let's talk later. Everything's okay. Don't worry." She smiled at the dark haired girl and pulled her into the class room. It was almost empty which wasn't a rare thing to happen. None of the students would go to a class this early. Wendy wondered if Jisoo was one of those people as well since his seat was still not taken. He seemed so different from his father. Not only in term of looks but his mindset was not like his father's who was organizing his notes and Wendy wasn't quite sure if she liked that part of him. An idea popped into Wendy's head. She knew who to ask for help to settle her problem with unknown.
