The New Boy

Lockwood and I were at a restaurant for once. George was supposed to come with us, but he had "business" to attend to.

It wasn't a fancy restaurant or anything. It was just fast food. Anyway, that's not the point.

We were sitting across from each other, after ordering our food. We didn't really talk much, though. Lockwood was nervous because we had an interview in three days. All three of us.

"Hi, I'm Carlos. What's your name?" a voice said.

I looked up. A boy about my age was at our table, sticking out his hand for me to shake. Lockwood suddenly tensed, but, why, I didn't know.

"Lucy." I shook his hand.

"So are you two related? Siblings? Cousins?" the boy, Carlos, asked.

"Erm... no."
"Dating?"
I blushed. "No."
"Well, then, would you like to go out with me?" he asked.
I noticed Lockwood was clenching his fists.

"Erm... sure?"

Carlos's face lit up. "Great. Can I get your number?"
I gave him my number.
He left.

Our food arrived.
Lockwood didn't say anything, so I decided to break the silence.

"Any new cases?" I asked.

"On Monday."
Nothing else. Nothing about the haunting, what type of ghost, just... nothing

He obviously wasn't in the mood, so I decided not to push it.

We left the restaurant and walked home in silence.

Hiiiiii! Now, before you get mad at me, just know that there WILL be some Locklyle in future chapters *wink* but, for now, it's Lucy and Carlos.
