It was later in the evening when James had left once again for dinner. He arrived again within minutes, and I was ready to cry more than I had ever cried before. Police were following him. "Are you Trisha Dale, miss?" Said a tall dark figure holding a flashlight in my face. "Yes sir" I said sheepishly and my eyes started the sting from the tears forming in my eyes. "You are under arrest for the murder of Michael Dale" and the tears started flowing "I'm sorry" I whispered, not being able to look James in the eye. That was the worst moment in my whole life, the day I was arrested for killing my own father.

When we arrived at the police station, they took me to a holding cell where they kept me for only two days before an investigator was ready to interrogate me, I explained everything to the best of my ability but I showed no emotion. I had cut off all emotional strings between my father and I, way back at the beginning of his drinking problem. The investigator acted sympathetic for me but I know that was only a mask. I was assigned a public defender for my case, as I was neither old enough nor I had the money to pay for my own lawyer. My court date was set for three months from that day and since I had no where to go, I was taken to the juvenile detention center where I spent the three miserable months before my court date.
