Chapter 4

“Explain this, if it was just an accident they why did all of you run? You didn’t even have anything to do with it!” “I told you a million times! We were scared the whole thing was an accident,” shouted Sam. In a similar room down the hall was Matt. “Why did you do it? Why did you kill Jacob?” Matt winced at the words, “I told you I didn’t mean too I’m sorry! I’m sorry!” He broke down crying, everything was to real now, he really was just like his dad, nothing but a lowlife jerk who killed. “Hey! Stop your crying! I want answers!” That’s when Matt blew up, “You want answers? The fact I’m a messed up kid, the fact that I have a temper, the fact Jacob Sparks was a jerk and a bully, or how about the fact it was an accident!” He was scared and now the cop wouldn’t dare look at him then he whispered “Sorry, I told you I have a temper.” The cop left the room fearing his life. Sam was having just as hard of a time with her cop, question after question when finally he left. The cops decided to have the both declared legally insane, just get them out of the way and be done with it. However, when they went back to get them the were gone, doors wide open and a note left on the table “Try again losers!” What had happened while they were talking in the office was violet had found the keys, unlocked the doors and they took off, right around the corner when the cops came back. Then she looked at Matt and grabbed his hand and said “We’ve got the whole world in front of us.” and he responded with “So where to next?” Matt picked her up and kissed her, “And that is truly the question!” Violet spoke next, “Hate to interrupt but we gotta get going.” Matt set down Sam and just took her hand, “Of course, lets get going.”

*A few hours later*

Sam slowed to a walk before stopping and out of breath said, “The sun’s going down, it’s time to find camp.” and together Matt and Violet said, “Agreed.” As they searched for a place to sleep Matt was lost in thought. The thoughts of how he has to keep Sam close, they’re both on edge lately and that’s dangerous. He’s figure it out, he always did. Finally they found a nice dark but warm clearing deep in the woods. Matt started to make a fire and the girls were out before he could get it lit. Once he did he laid next to Sam and pulled her close then whispered, “I love you” in her ear. This is dangerous and once again he was thinking about what he had done.
