Kia sat in a hammock, reading a book on nen, which she was working on herself, though she had gotten as far as ren.
Alright, I know there's ten, zetsu, ren, and hatsu, I only need to finish the last one. I guess I should do the water divinations to see what I am, she thought.
"Now to get some water." She said and left out the door, stepping over seasick men.
She found a glass of water and sat on the slightly rocking deck, a leaf was floating in the water. Kia focused her aura into the water and jerked back.
"N-Nani? I-I'm a specialist?" She choked, her eyes trained on the water glass, she had seen a strange picture in the water, a man she had never seen before slicked back hair, strange emotionless eyes, he was wearing a black cloak with St. Peter's cross on the back. "Who-who was that?"
"What type of specialist am I? I know it as only a glimpse but could I be a fortune seer or was that just chance?" She asked herself. "I have to put these thoughts away for now I can't get distracted."

First person

It began to pour violently so I decided to go below deck to the room where the applicants stayed. As I reached the bottom of the steps I saw the captain.
"Something the matter captain?" I asked and he jumped slightly.
"No."
"Ah, well I'm going in there right now, I need to get my book." I said and he let me through before he came back infront of the door only to be knocked into by a jittery crew member named katsuo. I had reached my hammock and lay down with my book in hand.
"Now I have to worry about who that man was." I sighed after a minute of trying to take my mind off of him.
"What man?"
"Eh? Oh, I remember a man from somewhere, I can place a face but not a name and it's quite frustrating." I sighed and looked at the ceiling.
The captain gathered the ones of us still standing Or in kurapika and my case, lying easily in our hammocks. He took us to the captain post and explained what we needed to know. Kurapika and leorio managed to start a fight in a matter of minutes. Gon and I tried to stop them but they wouldn't listen. Only a short few minutes later, Leorio and Kurapika worked together and saved gon and katsuo. I jumped off the side and caught the rope, swung around and landed on the deck, I began to pull with the rest of the crew.

~some time later~

We stood on deck after the storm cleared, gon, kurapika and leorio talked while I toyed with some extremely strong chains I'd made while I waited for the storm to clear. I had looked into some puddles and saw similar ones on kurapika, I knew I was seeing bits and pieces as I did, I looked up as the captain said he would drop us off at the port nearest the examination site. I sighed and twirled a chain, the dowsing chain to be exact. I sighed again and gon looked at me curiously.
"How did you do that with the rope?"
"Nani? Oh you mean swinging on it?" I asked and he nodded.
"That's right! You! How could you be just as reckless as gon?" Leorio demanded
"Well, I always did that, my family lives in a place surrounded by trees and the vines are always far away, not to mention you can't walk on the ground since there are dangerous creatures there, they litter the ground like weeds, it's a huge test if you can beat one, that was the only way my family would let me take the hunter exams. So I focused on that and defeated one on my first try, it was terrifying and exhilarating at the same time. So swinging on the rope was like nothing to me the vines are farther than that away." I explained as I leaned against the side of the boat.
"Nani!"
"Hai. It's completely dense forest and what's worse is we live next to this powerful assassin family. Most of them are crazy, I think there is one or two members that are sane, there is a path at one point but we'd rather not be brutally murdered before we hit our thirties so we don't use that and we don't actually contact the family we stay hidden and learn to hide ourselves at all times or we could be killed. I watched the one that I knew that was sane to make sure they didn't corrupt him to insanity, it's catching you know." I said earning slight chuckles. "I caused a distraction before it could work though so he is as sane as can be. I think he knows about me but I never stayed long enough to find out. I'd broken one of my family rules by helping him so I didn't want to break the last one."
"There are only two rules with your family?" Kurapika asked.
"Hai, there's don't go near the assassins and don't talk to one. Thats it."
"That's it?"
"Hai. I had it ingrained into me since I was a toddler." I said
"That's not a good thing..." Leorio said.
"It is if it keeps you alive." I stated simply.
"True." Kurapika said and gon nodded.
