I was awakened by a siren that morning. It sounded so loud I was startled and fell off my bed. After tracking the sound I realized it was my alarm clock.

"Good morning sweets," my mother greeted as she cooked up an omelet for my father.

"Morning," I murmured and sat down at the table and covered my eyes.

"Are you excited for school?" My father asked.

"Hmm," I grunted. And I smelled that the omelet had green peppers, tomatoes and onions in it.

"Nothing has changed I guess," I thought. Then I heard my mom crack another egg.

"What would you like on your omelet Kendra?" My mother asked.

"Everything but cheese," I groaned blocking away the blinding lights if the kitchen chandelier.

"Bye mom, bye dad!" I shouted leaving the house for the driveway. I don't live in a community which is a downer but it's also good because you never know who the people next to you are. I heard the bus coming down the street so I came closer to the edge of the driveway. The bus was going so fast so when it came to a screeching haul I jumped back extremely fast.

"Oh dear lord I'm very sorry," the bus drive apologized.

"It's fine," I forgave her.

"Are you new?" The bus driver asked with a confused face.

"No," I replied and sat down. I didn't tell her why because I didn't want any attention. When the next stop came I saw my old class mate from freshman year, Avery. When she saw me her eyes were the size of the moon.

"Hey, Kendra," she managed to say a few seconds later. I waved back. I guess I couldn't avoid attention. This was going to be a long ride since I was the first stop.

After at least a hundred greets and "Kendra when did you get back?", the bus finally pulled into the school. When I was waking to the entrance I saw a new memorial so I checked it out.

IN HONOR OF KENDRA WALSH
                    1999-2016
When I saw my name I was offended.

"When someone's in a coma, it doesn't mean that they're dead," I heard a voice behind me say. I turned around to see who it was and I saw an unfamiliar face.

"Right?" I agreed. I saw a tall muscular guy with blond hair and baby blue eyes. He looked like a foot ball player.

"Sorry for just approaching like that," the guy apologized.

     "It's fine I'm Kendra," I introduced.

"I know," the guy laughed and left.

     "Jerk," I thought.

"How does he even know me?" I thought and stood at the memorial a few moments later and then walked inside.

"Hey Kendra," I heard a voice say but I didn't care anymore. I just waved at the stranger and walked.

"Welcome class," Mr. Jankins announced. He took attendance and noticed my face.

"Oh hello, are you new he-" Mr. Jankins began to speak.

"Oh welcome back Kendra!" Mr. Jankins exclaimed and ran over to hug me.

"When did you come out of your coma?" A girl I never knew asked me when Mr. Jankins left.

"A week ago," I answered. She looked pretty and sassy. She had a lot of people around her to talk to so she must have been popular.

"Oh cool!" She replied and turned away from me. I looked at her do now and saw her name at the top.
