"No! Don't you dare Harry Potter!" Hermione Granger demanded.
Harry Potter was attempting to drag Hermione out of the house and on to a broomstick in the garden, with Ron Weasley merely following eagerly behind.
They had both had enough of her whining and of her dislike for the activity. She had locked herself in her room every time they tried to force her on the bloody stick. She was clever. She'd managed to get away every time. Miraculously disappearing whenever someone talked about Quidditch or so much as mentioned a broom. When George was particularly close to finding her one day, hiding in the broom shed, of all places, she quickly transfigured all the brooms in the shed into pencils, and pretended to be writing an essay. George of course, found this very suspicious, but was more concerned about where his broom was, and forgot about Hermione all together. Percy Weasley had come home that weekend, and had been beside himself when he found out. Not being the most known for flying brooms, but being very protective of the one he had earned as a parting gift from his ex-girlfriend Penelope Clearwater, Percy had had a bit of a tantrum in his room for a while.
Hermione would only emerge when the subject of Quidditch was dropped, and she would be all wrapped up in a cosy blanket on the sofa with a book resting on her lap. There she would stay for the rest of the evening.
The Weasleys and Harry all seemed to find this very amusing, and to her own dismay, she caught Kreacher cracking a disturbing smile when he thought no one was watching. The git probably enjoys it, she thought to herself.
However, she was not clever enough.
Harry and Ron had finally succeeded, by having blocked the doorway and grabbed her by the waist as she had come out of her bedroom, of course with her nose stuck in some muggle book she had been highly interested in, and rambling non-stop about it with Ginny Weasley for the entire summer.
"Sorry Hermione, but we really want you to stop whining about Quidditch. It's starting to get insulting. Flying is such a wonderful experience, once you get up there!" Ron said smiling by the thought of flying.
She only scowled, but didn't give up that easily.
"I'm not very keen on heights! I belong on safe ground thank you very much. How can you do this to me, when I clearly don't want to end up in St. Mungo's!" she argued.
"You're overreacting." Harry frowned. "And you won't get away this time, I think you've actually tried everything. Percy shed too many tears when he thought he wouldn't see his broom again."
"I would have given anything to have seen that." Ron sniggered
"Ronald!" she said trying her best to shoot him a glare over her shoulder. Hermione had felt so bad despite the all the jokes that was made afterwards, so she'd safely restored the brooms when everyone had been busy helping themselves to Mrs Weasley's famous apple pie.
Harry just pushed her further. When it got tiring to do so, he went in front of her, grabbed her arm, and pulled her instead. "I am not overreacting." Hermione added, mostly to herself.
