The Child Dilemma

Prologue- Children?!

Summary: This is another version of my story Feudal Japan's Daycare Service, just with the TMI characters and world. Though it is a little different: One day while Clary, Luke and Jocelyn are out of the city, a magical spell washes over Brooklyn. No one is safe except for the really young children or the elderly. Sebastian is visiting the New York Institute. Him and the other Shadowhunters of the Institute are now little children. Who cast this spell? How can they break it and what is with Sebastian calling Clary his mate? (Sebastian is acting more like a demon and is more instinctual. He only talks in one to three word sentences. And everyone can remember everything in this one.)

Soo I hope you enjoy. I know I haven't been updating recently but my Internet's been out for the past three weeks. I can't read fanfiction or update so I apologize sincerely. Luckily when I update this, we will have switched to a different Internet provider.

Prologue- Children??

Jace's POV (This whole chapter will probably be in his POV. Totally didn't mean for that to happen... oops...)

"What do you want?" I grumbled to Sebastian who was standing in a corner of the living room, smirking at me. "Oh, nothing. I'm bored, so I thought I'd pay you a little visit." He answered, studying his nails, still smirking. I rolled my eyes. "Go away." "No. I don't think I will. You see, there is one person missing and I would like to check up on her." "Clary's... out of the city with Jocelyn and Luke. On a vacation of sorts." I said. "Well, then, I will be staying until after she returns."

Isabelle, who was talking to Alec on the couch, sighed. "Fine. Whatever. Just don't attack us and we won't attack you." She said, glaring at him hatefully. "Yes, yes. Will do." Sebastian said. He moved over to where a couple of books were lying on an end table and picked one up. It was one of Clary's textbooks that she's supposed to be studying. "Don't touch those. They are Clary's books that she has to read and study. For her training." I said, going over and picking up the stack, including the one in his hand, and quickly taking them to her room.

When I returned he was on the couch with A Tale of Two Cities in his hand, the one my father had given to me. He was flipping through the pages quickly. I sighed and sat by Izzy. "Why is he here?" she leaned over and whispered. I saw him glance up at us in the corner of my eye, staring at us intently. "I don't really know, Iz." I replied. She shrugged and resumed talking to Alec, playing with her silver electrum whip.

I was watching Sebastian, who was actually reading the book this time, when a gust of wind swept over us. "What the hell?" I muttered before everything around me grew... Or, I thought, I've shrunk. Indeed, I did shrink down to the size of my three year old self. I looked at my hands with shock, then down at myself. I am my three year old self!

"Woah!" I muttered before looking around. I saw Izzy was about one and a half and Alec was five. Sebastian was four. "Guys, why are we children?" Izzy asked worriedly. I peeked outside and saw a thousand little kids crying outside. Well except for the elderly who tried to calm everyone down.

"Guys, I think the whole city is like this." I said in a whisper. Izzy clutched onto Alec's sleeve, who put his arms around her, and started crying. I went to her and hugged her and Alec. "Shh, guys, it's ok. Hopefully, it's just Brooklyn. Then when Clary and Jocelyn return, she can figure something out. She is smart" I said. "Mate?" I turned my head and looked at Sebastian curiously. "Mate coming back?" he said, grinning excitedly. Is this what he was like when he was a child? "Do you... remember everything? Or anything?" I asked. He looked at me confused. "Who you? What you want?" he narrowed his black, black eyes at me. "I'm Jace... your.. uh.. brother." I said, looking away. "Ooh! Brother!" he laughed, rushing up to me and hugging me. "Who they?" he pointed at Izzy and Alec. "Friends. My best friends." I said. "No hurting them." He nodded. "Hello! I am Jonathan!" "Who is you father, Seb-Jonathan?" Alec asked cautiously. "My father... is Valentine. Umm, He's dead." Sebastian nodded in confirmation.

Then we heard the front door open before Clary came rushing into the room. "Oh, God. You guys too? And Sebastian's here?" she gasped, out of breath. "The whole freaking city is all turned into children." "Clary?" Izzy asked with tears in her eyes. "Hey, Izzy. What's wrong?" "I'm scared Clary. I don't know why I'm crying, but I am." "It's because you are your child self with the memories of your normal self." Magnus said, walking into the room.

"Magnus!" Alec gushed in relief. "I do not know what happens but at least we still have our memories... and our clothes still fit." He said, looking down at himself. "Well, most of us remember everything. Sebastian doesn't. He doesn't talk in full sentences either." I said, looking at Sebastian. "And he is Jonathan... Though he does remember that Valentine is dead." "Well, I guess that's good. Though why he's staring at me, I do not know." Clary said, laughing.

Sebastian was indeed staring at her. He watched her as she kissed Izzy's head and hugged Alec and I. "At least you guys are safe..." "But, where's Simon?" Izzy asked. "I sent mom and Luke to get them. Because I figured that if the whole town is like this then he, and Magnus teleported here. Luckily he is normal because he's a warlock. Though he didn't do this. Trust me." She shrugged.

"I hope Simon's alright." Izzy said. "Me too, Iz. Me too." She sighed and looked back at Sebastian. She leans over to me. "Is it weird that I really want to hug him?" she whispers. "Yes." "Damn. I'm still gonna hug him. He's so cute!" And with that, she scoops him up in her arms and hugs him tightly. He giggles and clutches onto her, nuzzling her neck. Weird.

"Ok, now that that's out of my system... What do we do now? How do we return everyone back to normal?" she asks, looking at Magnus. "I think we will have to wait it out." Magnus said, holding Alec in his arms. "For how long though?" Simon asks coming into the room. "Simon!" Izzy and Clary say happily. "Thank God you're safe!" Izzy gushes grabbing his hand.

"So, why is Clary holding a little Sebastian?" He asks. "This is Sebastian. And he's cute. I'm calling him Sebby!" "Mate nickname?" Sebastian asks, smiling happily at Clary. "Mate?" Alec asks. "Sebastian is living off of instincts. He's more of a demon than ever and it seems as if his Demon, or his beast, that's inside of him, has chosen our dear Clary as his mate." Magnus explains. "He will have to be near her at all times. Clary must be in his sight or somewhere he can smell her all the time. No going out alone or by yourself with Jace. He's very possessive and protective. Jace, if you want to stay alive, I suggest you keep your distance. He will kill you if his Beast is unleashed." I went pale at that.

"Oh, God. Hahaha." Clary laughs nervously as Sebastian licks her neck.

"This sucks!" I flopped on the couch angrily. "Jace?" I look up and see Clary, still holding Sebastian, looking at me worriedly. "Are you ok?" "Will you put him down?" I snapped loudly at her .She flinched. "Why? Are you my boss, Jace?" she hisses, turning away and I feel guilty instantly.

I sigh and get up, walking over to her and putting my hand on her shoulder. I could see little Sebastian glaring hatefully at me. "Mate crying. Because of you. Meanie." He said. " I know. Look, Clary, I'm sorry OK? This whole thing is freaking me out and you know how I get when I'm freaked out and confused or frustrated. I push everyone away... I'm sorry." I said.

"Whatever. I don't want to talk to you right now, Jace. Please, just leave me alone." She says quietly and goes upstairs with Sebastian who is nuzzling her neck comfortingly.

I sigh and sit back down, trying to figure this out.

Why had this happened? Who did this? Do they have something against Brooklyn? Those questions ran through everyone's mind. This adventure will not be over for a while.
