Attack of the Dead

Part 2: The first kill

I woke up inside bars so I assumed that they took me back to there base I look around and I see a camera in the corner of the room then I hear over an intercom "welcome to are fortress. You can earn a citizen ship cause we have plenty of food and supplies so it's up to you. Either turn around and walk out the door that leads outside or go straight but be warned we will be watching all the time your choice... We'll give you sometime to thing" I hear the intercom crackle off. I think for a few minutes and I decide I want to stay atleast until I know more about the zombies. "I've made my decision" I yelled hoping for them to hear me. I hear the intercom come on "what is your decision?" The voice replied "I choose to stay" I said. I hear the door unlock and I walk to it and go through. As I walked out I got blinded by the sun and I saw a man standing there. "H-hello" I say recognizing him from the hospital. "Follow me, sir" he says as he turns around and starts heading to the building in the center of the town I follow and as I follow I see a place full of guns and I think should I run in there and grab one then I thought wait I don't know if they have any ammo so I kept on walking seeing guys in military and swat gear growing more and more concerned of my safety. They led me to the center of town where the leader stayed and I walked in along with the guard and The leader was turned facing away from us in his chair and then I heard a female voice say "leave us be guard." She said sternly. He followed orders walking out and closing the door behind him. As the chair spun around I saw a lady dressed in full black with a logo that kind of looked like a dark horse with a gun on the side and she wore a cape. I got concerned as she spoke "welcome recruit." I look at her confused "what do you even mean?" I asked confused. "I mean that you work for us now." She paused then continued "We are the Dark Knights. We where the smart one's when the virus broke out..." I interrupted her "ma'am what virus are you..." I got hit across the face going down "Did I say you could speak!" She yells at me as I sit up in pain. "Ow" I mutter "What did you just say!" She snaps back at me. I shake my head saying nothing. "Good recruit." she says continuing "This is base camp for the dark nights we have camps all around spread near and far delivering us food and supplies" I look at her half distracted and I wonder what to do or reply and I got so distracted I didn't hear the last part all I heard was "You understand rookie" I nod "yes ma'am can I ask one thing ma'am?" she nods giving me permission "What is going on?" I asked she looks at me a little confused. "You mean you don't know what's going on?" I nod hoping she would explain "Well I'll be D@mned the rookie doesn't even know that your in the middle of an apocalypse" she giggles "What were you doing in that hospital anyways?" She asked. I replied "honestly I don't remember I was fine and then all the sudden I wake up and it's hell!" She looked at me in a total different way "you're and innocent you are going out with the guards for a scavenging round." I look concerned but before I could say anything she called the guard in and told him what she wanted me to do and he escorted me to a big building at the edge of town and I began being worried that he may kill me. He opened a door of a big building where I saw guys arming up and putting stuff in a few of the cars that where in there. "Arm up" he said as he pushed me into a gear room I grab a vest and a helmet along with an assault rifle and three mags and I go to the rest of the group that where already loading up in big SUV's. I get in the truck as the rest load up and a big gate open and we drive out and zombies start walking in the spot we where just and I saw them lock the doors behind us with the zombies still in it. "Guys why we leaving them in there?" I asked with no response from anyone.

It seemed like hours before we finally stopped in a town blocked off by a bus. "Get out guys!" The guy up front yells and I was forced out and we where on the street scanning for the living and the dead. "Clear" I heard everyone say and I repeated it. "Recruit we have some things we need in that city but when it all went down the city had to be blocked in so we need you to go in that bus and take out some zombies with us and hey you'll get your first kill" everyone chuckles as I start heading towards the bus. I break the glass on the door and open it. I crotch down and walk in and see a few zombies so I line up my shot and pull the trigger. I see the blood go all over the windows and the seats almost vomiting.
